Hello fellow ME fans/modders,

I've been trying to add long hair to MaleShep in ME1, ME2 and ME3 for a long time now.

I only had success in ME2 so far (took me endless hours with texmod/gibbed until it looked good) , here: http://s14.directupl...2dh9hcg_jpg.htm

aaand here:http://s1.directuplo...75p37p_jpg.htm' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'> http://s1.directupload.net/file/d/3476/cr75p37p_jpg.htm

I tried using this tutorial ( http://femshep.ning.com/forum/topics/mass-effect-1-hair-editing-tutorial ) to put a ponytail on my ME1 Shep, but it just doesn't work (i get crashes or a weird blonde Shep with very short hair)

However, for ME3 i want to add one of the long hair styles ("jessica" or "allers") from here : http://social.biowar...62/blog/211693/  as a permenent (so i don't go bald when using casual outfits) and either Jack's hair or Kai Leng's hair as an shoulder-armour part.

Now there are two problems:
First, the "custom" long hair sits too low so the hair has clipping issues, apperently there is a fix for femshep ( http://www.rdc3.com/...-long-hair-mod/ basically just making the head "flat")

What are the Values to make it look good on MaleShep?
And what files do i need to edit in my save? Same as ME2?

Now the second Problem:

How do "replace" an armour part with hair?
Again, only tutorials for femshep...

(Here is the stuff needed for Kai Leng if that helps: BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.KaiLeng.BIOG_HMM_HIR_KaiLeng_MDL

BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.KaiLeng.HMM_HED_PROKaiLeng_Hair_Diff

BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.KaiLeng.HMM_HED_PROKai_Scalp_Diff
BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.KaiLeng.HMM_HED_PROKai_Scalp_Norm
BIOG_HMM_HED_PROMorph.KaiLeng.HMM_HED_PROKai_Scalp_Spec

The lines for Jack's hair can be found in any "femshep-custom-hair-tutorial"

Maybe someone can Help me getting the ponytail on MaleShep in ME1 and those custom hair on my ME3 MaleShep

Sorry if some sentences are odd, english isn't my native language (+i'm tired), but i'm learning ;)

thanks for reading and helping :)

Ok, im currently working on my ME3 Shep, now i know why i need to lower the head : s14.directupload.net/file/d/3476/r3xh2k67_jpg.htm ....

Same problem with the standart-femshep-ponytail:

s7.directupload.net/file/d/3476/fkaez6gy_jpg.htm

"Ok..." - result with jack's hair:

s1.directupload.net/file/d/3476/atzoqied_jpg.htm

Kai's hair sits a little too high:

s7.directupload.net/file/d/3476/s28oxkir_jpg.htm

I'd like to use the hair from the first link as permanent and Kai as shoulder-armour.

Jack+Kai hair  go all weird when moving, thats why it's suggested to use them as a armour part, but how do i do that? And how do i adjust the head/hair position so it doesn't look disturbing?

If i make any further progress, i'll post it right here. (At least i'm making progress with ME3, i still have NO idea at all how to get a ponytail on Manshep in ME1 <_< )

Thanks for reading and helping:D

Use the Lazarus Project to find the values of your vertices. Open your ME2 head mesh in it and click on the vertices. ME2 value is on top. ME3 value is below in braces.

Hello,
thanks for the advice, but apperantely i can't use "Lazarus Project" (got it here: http://faceeffect.bl...t-tutorial.html ).

Whenever i try to start it, i get a error message, telling me that my executed Windows version is not compatible. (I'm using Vista 64bit , it's probalby only compatible to 32bit systems).

How can i solve this problem?

And: Is lowering the head the only way to get the hair to fit? Would be esier if there were some vertices to just set the hair higher.

I tried the vertices for Femshep for ( here: www.rdc3.com/blog/2013/02/03/mass-effect-3-femshep-long-hair-mod/ , I'm trying to put the "allers" hair on)

Well no succes, here's a Screenshot : s7.directupload.net/file/d/3477/n8kup52z_jpg.htm

[If someone has the vertices to get long hair on maleshep or knows how to stop Kai Lengs hair from clipping, please post here :) ]

Thanks for reading and helping :D

No "hair-mod-experts" here ? :crying:

[Since i have no idea what to do to make that stuff look good in ME3 at the moment , i went back to ME1 and tried to put a ponytail on my shep (using this tutorial femshep.ning.com/forum/topics/mass-effect-1-hair-editing-tutorial ; replacing the original haircut with "Ponytail" and the "short" section with "Ptl".)
well, here's what i got: s14.directupload.net/file/d/3479/7tq8ymuh_jpg.htm it changed my hair colour to blonde and gave me that weird short hair, i always get that result or a game crash when loading the modified save, i don't know what i'm doing wrong...]

Hi. For 64 bit compatibility issue, try downloading the updated exe and xml files. Steps are here: http://social.biowar...3023/1#11073023

Unfortunately, I don't know anything more about this type of hair modding.Sorry. :(

Hi,thanks for the reply, ;)

That's the problem, i can only run the old .exe, the new one isn't compatible. When i load everything up, it won't show any vertices no matter were i click. :(

I don't know why it's so difficult to mod maleshep-long hair in ME1 and ME3 [btw, if anyone wants to know what i did to get it working in ME2, just ask and i'll post it here].

However, i won't give up...there's got to be modders out there who know how to mod ME2/ME3 hair! :D

Thanks for reading and helping ;)

Some good news!!
My shepard looks like this now (kinda similar to kai leng, but without odd clipping) : Posted Image

If you want to know what i've done, just visit this site : girlplaysgame.com/mass-effect/mass-effect-how-to-mod-to-your-hearts-content/mass-effect-mshep-hair-mods/

Now, to complete my "long-hair-male-shep-story", only ME1 is missing...
If someone who knows how edit hair meshes and to get long hair (femshep Ponytail) on Maleshep in ME1 please post here :D

Thanks for reading and helping ;)

EDIT: Since my ME3-related problem is solved, i'll post my ME1-hair question in the proper forum-section. [ social.bioware.com/forum/1/category/128/index ]
