Especially in the first file.
She's a bit of a rogue-ish jokester, but good-hearted and has strong apposement to those that would harm others.
My character has been in and led armies, and that shapes a huge part of the gameplay--
She'll try everything she can to save everyone,
but if it comes between others and her men, she'll likely choose her men.

My first thoughts are towards an anti-chantry, sardonic, pragmatic elf
Pretty much this. But I'll be an human mage myself.

(1) I won't let principles get in the way of a desirable outcome (pragmatism).
(2) I won't be cruel just because I can (no evil without a purpose).
(3) I will help people if it costs me nothing significant or gains me something significant.
(4) I will try to find positive value in the alien, the other, the not-quite-human or the beyond-human.
(5) I will value exploration of the unknown, knowledge and personal ascension.
(6) I will be an enemy to organizations and people who attempt to restrict the pursuit of (4).

1) Principles are my desired outcome. The people come first.
2) Cruelty is never a desired option. It is always regrettable - even if made unavoidable.
3) I will sacrifice personal power, personal knowledge, love interests and the sovereignty of the Inquisition to serve the people.
4) Any entity that poses, by its nature, a threat to people - will be met with the most extreme hostility.
5) Knowledge and personal power are worthy pursuits when they do not interfere with #1.
6) I will be an enemy to anyone who puts their own egoism before the safety and well being of the people. (Which will leave my list of allies very thin methinks.)

In ME3 I was able to do the worst things possible and still achieved the best ending(breath scene). I would like to do the same in this game.

Ah, I see what's going you. Clearly, you're someone who goes starry-eyed over 'balance.' Mmm. I bet you have a tendency to support nature-y things? As 'balance?'Mesina2 wrote...
Balance =/= Middle
Well, that's a very nice little alignment for Dungeons and Dragons. But it really has no place beyond that.
So intentionally misrepresenting an argument is what is going for you. You don't like to see anyone or anything that doesn't hold on to your own identity of heroism. It's all 'very nice' and 'nature-y' to you, and you clearly go starry-eyed over your idea of heroism, which is of course very insular, narrow, and limited in scope.
Sorry, but idea of heroism is typically what fuels zealots and ultranationalists who think that their moral superiority is what matters most. In fact, your black and white morality and notion of good and bad is really inapplicable to life. It's really naive, and really childish.

For me, I usually play a renegon, Jack Bauer type in games like these. I'll try to help and save as many as I can, but won't hesitate for one second if I'm required to get my hands dirty if called for. I'm talking just filthy hands.
I guess I just find the super good, flawless and infallible hero type boring. I feel they're more at home in a disney story. I fully endorse the anti-hero, much more to my taste.

This will help me determine: (1) which NPCs to talk to; (2) which ones to avoid; (3) which spells are most useful.
And she will have a rude/brash, thuggish personality to her as well. Something a bit outside the character profile I typically go for with the main character (I want my canon run to still feel unique/fresh by the time I'm ready to go for it) but still a more interesting (and more tolerable) personality to me than the cliched lawful-good Paladin hero I have no interest in RP'ing.

I'm curious why your Inquisitor would even bother with principles at all. Why not throw them in the garbage immediately if they're discarded so very, very easily?Ieldra2 wrote...
Here a few traits which will most likely characterize my main Inquisitor (may or may not be the first one, will most certainly not be the only one):
