So, hmh, guns still don't exist in Dragon Age universe.
Which means you're guys are being very off topic.
That's why projecting RL problems in arguments like this is always bad
You can see how well it's unfolding right now.

You'd think all these anti-gun people would be against the mages on the basis that they carry loaded guns that can't be seen or taken from them every second of their lives.Mesina2 wrote...

Then they argue that mages don't willingly carry guns and that in real life you do.

Didn't The police tell zimmerman not to persue Trayvon?
They told him he didn't have to follow, not that he shouldn't. He did, he was attacked and had his head bashed into the cement and then shot him after pulling out his gun. It's all explained in the trial.

Have you ever thought trayvon might've attacked zimmerman in self defense as well? Better yet did you ever think that he might have killed trayvon then inflicted damage on himself? Oh man, It's a shame this thread is gonna locked someone just had to bring up zimmerman.

I haven't really bothered to follow the case, which one was it that ran away and then came back to the scene?

Mages and templars aren't the problem here, people who can't seem to accept they can't have everything they want and have to follow restrictions are. Templars and mages, all the problem ones seem to be the ones abusing the power and trust of others for their own gain.
When there's a flaw in the system, I find that tearing it all down as many people seem invested in doing is the right solution. Fixing the flaw is the better way, the system's worked for centuries and tearing it all down will only cause more problems in the end.

It's certainly been been in place for centuries, though saying that it has worked might be a more than a little generous.Fixing the flaw is the better way, the system's worked for centuries and tearing it all down will only cause more problems in the end.

It's kept damage to a minimum when cases go bad and trained mages are readily available when they need to do something, it's done it's job pretty well in that case. The fact that it might've saved a few mage lives along the way is a bit of compensation for the anullments.

So how about those mages, guys. Somebody should like stop them or something.
They will make excellent paving stones, except for the elves they get to be soap, candles, and glue.

Wouldn't it be better to have mages/elves pave the roads, only turning them into merchandise after they've expired?
We're having the elves build the roads using the mages while the mages make the elves into soap, candles, and glue.
We'll probably have to switch to human labor to finish one those though.

No Meredith had already called for the right of Annullment from Divine. So it was going to happen anyway Anders just gave the mages a chance to fight back instead of them waking up one more with the templars going room to room killing all the mages.AresKeith wrote...

Not without permission from the Grand Cleric
I think the knight commander still has to be the one to invoke the right in the first place.
Only after the Grand Cleric approves of it.... unless if the Grand Cleric has been assasinated then the Knight-Commander has the right to invoke the R.o.A.
So Anders is to blame from what happened in Kirkwall
