All I gotta say is, if there's a leaked script, KEEP THAT **** TO YOURSELF.

I don't want some blabbermouthed jackass ruining a potential return to form.

You mean like when ME3 was leaked, they said it was not the final sript, and in the end it all turned worse than anybody expected?

I feel sorry for the team. It should be the ME3 one (main plot writers at least) taking whatever happens to this one.

Dunno, isn't basic gameplay one of the things that can be made very early in production and parallel to writing?
Maybe they test and finetune gameplay longer since ME3MP was such a great success?

Best way to approach it, really.

I still don't see what there is to be optimistic about at all.

imagine for a second that you had actually liked ME3. Now can you see? It's more mass effect.

The irony, he's supposed to headcanon that he liked it.....?

I have really mixed emotions about this. I love the Shepard trilogy, but loathe the way things panned out at the end.

Still don't see myself picking this up, and I'm still yet to hear an idea for a new story that I like, but I wouldn't begrudge people getting excited about more ME. I just wish I could......:crying:

Okay.

I'm 'yay!' if this is a post-destroy setting based around the galaxy getting back together again.

I'm 'meh' if it's a prequel or side-story in the timespan of the trilogy.

I'm indifferent about new compnions and PC, not because I feel let down for a lack of the old but because I've always enjoyed (or not) the Bioware companions on their own standing. And because Bioware PC's are pretty much Interchangeable Emma's anyway.

Now imagine that you felt badly burned by what ME3 delivered.  Now can you see?  It's more Mass Effect.

These tweets tell us nothing.  Not the setting.  Not the characters.  Not the timeline.  Not the story.  Neither how it is "fres"h nor how it is "recognizable"

If at some point they give an indication that they understand not all players want to play Walter White I'll entertain the notion of being interested.

Your original post in the chain is just that there's no reason for you to be optimistic, right? Not that other people don't have good reasons.

I actually think you'll be OK in one respect. I don't think the ME team is going to serve up any more ambiguity for a while. Though this might just mean that they cram morally unacceptable options even further down your throat.

Indeed.  But the response seemed to indicate a lack of understanding why I am not optimistic.  And why the tweets don't get me excited.

As to the ambiguity thing:  My position is not lack of it was a problem as such, it's that they were clear when they should have been ambiguous, and ambiguous where they should have been clear.

Cramming even more morally unacceptable options down the audience's throat I am sure would backfire spectacularly.

My thoughts exactly.

Despite the ending, ME3 was otherwise a work of art. If they can keep up that level of quality, if they can expand the ME universe instead of just reskinning it for Shepard v.2.0, if they are capable of learning from what they did wrong with ME3 instead of blaming the consumers... I'll be first in line with a fistfull of money. But there's already been too much history to embrace this new project unconditionally.

Also, EA.

"I'm doing something."

That's about the jist of most of the developer posts so far. If this is marketing then I don't get it.

As opposed to, you know, doing nothing.

It's not hard to see why BioWare's staff may be reluctant to participate in these forums, because I think people are keen on being a bit too harsh/unfair to them about this.

If the devs feel enthusiastic enough to tweet about what they're doing without giving a lot of details away, why should we malign them for it? Maybe they want to establish that the next game is indeed not vaporware. Maybe they're just excited about the project.

How do you figure that they're not good at marketing? Is this franchise not a sucess?

Who said anything about this forum? I'm just thinking, people like to talk about things, so perhaps I would go for giving them more to talk about without giving away anything of significance.

Everyone knows the game is in development, so repeating it constantly is of no use.

But anyway, I won't tell them what to do, I just find this twitter trend of frequently saying things but actually saying nothing at all quite funny.

Playable doesn't really mean anything. If you go to Steam you can find all sorts of alpha 'early access' games up for sale.

Its not strange at all that they aren't talking about it much at the moment or showing anything.

Bioware *was* on my instant buy list; per-order every game and DLC's without question. Until ME3 (and it wasn't the ending that ruined for me - it was Kai Lang).

Even DAI, which I'm hugely excited about I will not pre-order. I'm gonna wait for release and read other player reactions before I jump in.

Taking the "wait and see" approach before I muster up any excitement. While my return to ME3 has given me a yearning for more things Mass Effect. I am far too reluctant now to offer BioWare more cautious optimism. Once we have something tangible, then we will see.

And I swear to god, BioWare. No Cerberus.

I can't wait for this forum to start making up features and story elements and then get really angry when the game releases and none of the made-up stuff is in there. It'll be glorious.
