I agree with this. Even Velanna overcame her hatred, at least to some degree. And hatred isn't the easiest feeling to let go of.Knight of Dane wrote...
Well, I completely agree that characters should grow. The way you wrote it at first just made me think that you meant the player should "choose" character growth.Plaintiff wrote...
I would argue that a character who doesn't grow and change through their interactions with others is a shallow, badly written character.
I'm not arguing that I should be able to change a character's mind on any and all points. I am arguing that I should be able to change their mind on some points, and I'm arguing that racism should be such a point.
Good characters are the kind that overcome their flaws.

For example, I don't want it to be impossible to romance a Dwarf just because I'm a different race, however, I would love it if it was a much harder process because you're a different race, since naturally everyone is skeptical of the unknown.
Basically, a Dwarf Inquisitor would probably have an easier and shorter time solidifying a romance between another Dwarven companion/NPC. A human/elf/qunari trying to romance said dwarf, a tougher process. But NOT impossible.

If it makes since for the character then yes. Say you have a elf who hates all humans. It wouldn't make since for you to easily be able to romance him/her if you were playing as a human.
In such a case, I'd say it should be harder for a human to romance said elf. But not impossible

Lol no thnx. There's not going to be very many romance options to choose from as it is, especially between the same gender. >.>
Umm.....if there are 4 romances, 2M 2F, and you play as a gay character, you'd have two options. If you play as a straight character, you'd have two options....if you play bi....you'd get 4 options! (assuming all the romance options are again 'player-sexual')
So the most options would be for a bi character in that senario. Straight and gay would be limited.

With the 1000+ pages long Talimancer threads (plural folks) gone, BSN needs a reminder that what it is truly capable of.

If "strictly in situations where it applies" is too much, then maybe that says something about the general state of this forum.Khayness wrote...
