That's good for you. (No snark). Some people do. I feel sucky that my gay warden's only option was Zevran.
Not to mention you mentioned character preferences that get the lion share of LIs. It's not like they're restricted to just one option who they may severely dislike.

So why are race romance restrictons a bad thing again?
Because it's silly when an overwhelming amount of players play human. More people play human than every other class put together.
How do you think the racial restrictions are gonna occur? It's going to blantantly favor those who play human characters in the name of resource conservation while screwing over those who play lesser played species. (I believe human was the most, elf was a faction of that and dwarves were played by like...5 or 10% of players).
Pretty sure the devs said it in an interview. Humans are the vast majority played. I wish I knew where it was...
I think elves were like 20 - 30%.

If all the characters are willing to romance you if your Inquisitor is horrendously ugly, I don't know why they'd refuse just because you're short or have pointy ears. Unless being a racist is part of their character, I guess.
Qunari are a whole different ballgame though; since qunari don't seem to even have romantic relationships, I don't think a Qunquisitor should be able to romance anyone.

It's the Qun that don't do the romantic relationships bit. Is there some example of Qunari outside the Qun not having the relationship drive? I

And this is why the Qunari as a blanket term for all Kossith is problematic: not all Kossith follow the Qun, and therefore don't all follow the Qun's precepts.

This is ultimately my point as well. While there are alot of other parts of the games that I like, I do admit that I enjoy the romance parts of the Bioware games. For me, adding restrictions aren't going to do much to enhance the game but it might, depending on how it shakes out, take alot away.
I'm concerned that with only 4 options, it will reduce my limited choice to no choice. It's like the m/m option from DA: O. Some people think that this game choice was fair, but I don't because I dislked Zevran and had no other option. The same thing could happen to me in DA: I if they add in race restrictions. I never choose to play as a human if given the option of playing as something else. So I fully intend to only play as qunari and dwarf inquisitors. And, I'll give you one guess as the two races most likely to get the "race restriction" hammer. You know it won't be humans, that's for sure.

Weren't a lot of the male humans simply the default one? I wonder how different the stats would be if it was random.
It's something which a lot of people have asked over the years, it would be interesting to see the results.

It's been brought up by developers over the years since DA:O. I think the stats were like 20-30% for elves, 2-3% for dwarves.
Only 3-4% have good taste. Dwarves and King Couslands.
Hell yeah, King Cousland ftw. Though playing a ruthless patriotic Cousland and becoming a hardened Alistairs advisor and pulling his strings is pretty nice too.
Bismarck Cousland in da house!

Same.
And it's people who will be playing the minority species that will be the most restricted. Chances are the devs aren't gonna go "LOL let's lock 75% of our players out of a romance." that's just...huh. (and if they did would said romance be less content loaded than the ones exclusive to humans?). And yeah it'll almost certainly be dwarves/qunari for reasons. Elf might skirt by because it's the second highest played species.

I tend to stick with humans/elves. I tried playing a dwarf. Her craning her neck every conversation after the origin is where I went "NOPE". I have a height complex and don't I know it. The elf I could take the dwarf went too far. XD

To be fair Meer can be pretty bad (especially in the romances good Lord Liaramance is so terrible on both of their ends) at times. But I'll take him sounding like a brick over hale's overemoting self and sounding like a psycho when I switch between renegade and paragon.

And it sucks to hear that it's people who are planning on playing as humans that are the ones who are in favor of restrictions. I change my vote: I'd like to have restrictions but only against humans. I'd also like to go to the DA: O way of doing romances but instead have 1 lesbian and 1 bisexual option as female LIs. I mean Traynor was just so popular, it makes sense to make a similar lady in DA: I, right? Oh, and the bisexual option is a human hating elf. I mean, she's such a deeper character since she won't romance humans, right? Then we'll see how many people are still in favor of it.

There's a way to angry whisper that works but Hale sure in hell wasn't doing it. Which is a damn shame because I ADORE her in KOTOR and MGS but she's just so terrible (to me before I get my throat jumped down) as FemShep.
Such a bitter dissappointment.
It does not help that I'm very picking with my female VA. Only female VA I really love in SWTOR is female SW "I didn't even break a sweat."

They AREN'T willing. They're made not to care one way or the other about a number of relevant topics by lack of content added by the writers : / .

Id still be in favor of it. Romanes, even egen done well, are hardly important to me and dont add all that much.
