Mordin seems unique. I imagine most aliens associated with Cerberus are either mercenarys, are being blackmailed, or Cerberus is helping them accomplish some kinda personal goal.Image IPBImage IPB

Or hell, why not a combination of any of those.

Well my next question I suppose would be....why do aliens help this organization out given there obvious mandate?

Not everybody gives a crap about politics? Some people are more interested in just helping others in general. Mordin is an unethical scientist with a benevolent streak. He probably sees humans disappearing as something important for him to help stop.

That's possible.  If you viewed the motives as purely political and really didn't care but it seems unlikely.  Mordin's involvement would likely have nothing to do with his benevolence and more to do with some other agenda I would think.  And it would ultimately be personal or political.

My only issue with Cerberus (without reading the novels or playing ME2 yet obviously) is that I thought they were a very pro-human, mainly xenophobic organization who is pushing for an agenda of ultimate human dominance. So why would they accept the help of other species?

Ends justify the means.  TIM knows that all intellegent life including humans might die.  That is important enough to take any help now that will stop that.

Those aliens can be disposed of later.  Also there is a huge chance they won't survive anyhow so why worry about it

He does things in order to help people, like curing diseases and killing bandits. Why would you assume his motives are personal or political when that goes against what we know about him?

If you watched the Sci vs Fi special, you'll see that Mordin has a unique view of helping people. If he belives that working with Cerberus will help more people then not working with them, then he'll help them. This is a guy that belives in Killing ten people if it will result in more living. Is it suprising that he wouldn't care about Cerberus's stance on Aliens?
