I made a generic stage for my mod in which all the convos with the NPC will take place (every time the player clicks on him).

I didn't tie the stage to an area, because I'm using the "At current location" option in the dlg.

I chose a line and "convert line to cutscene". I put the correct stage, etc.

Everything works like a charm!!

Except that when the conversation ends, my NPC moved several feet away. O_O
So I go and talk to him again, and when the convo ends, he moved again!! :-D I could chase the poor guy all over the place, and he keeps moving several feet away every time I talk to him and the conversation ends.

Do you have any idea of what's going on and how can I keep him in place during the whole conversation? :-)

Thanks! :-)

you'll want to move the place for your npc into the centre of your stage (easiest way is to make its location 0,0,0 rather than trying to drag it there).

Placing "at location" means the flag you see in the area editor is placed on the speaker, so if the place for the npc isn't on that flag, he'll move and not reset his position after the conversation ends.

Hm. Strange.

You know, after I put him in position 0,0,0, he still moves.

But further, I've noticed that there's no need to have a cutscene in order to make the stage work if I can set things in the dialog.

So I dropped the cutscene thing altogether.

So I have the stage only now, and things still work like a charm (poses, no helmet, etc) but he still moves position... :-/

Ideas? :-/

Thanks :-)

Ooookaaaay... back from the twilight zone... after I exported again, it works.

Without cutscene. Only the stage :-)

Sorry to bring back a dead topic, but this "At current Location" thing seems quite useful. Could you explain how this works?

I tried to do it but the camera ended up pointing at a random spot below the level, and the NPC and PC were teleported across the map, even though the NPCs place in the stage is at 0,0,0
