Looks good and I've been wanting a game like this for a long, long time.

I've backed it at the Baron tier.

Interesting, the focus on realism sounds certainly good.

Wow, no 1:1 USD to EUR exchange, for that alone they deserve success.

It looks like everything I thought it would be.

I'm just disappointed in the whole episode thing. I want the complete package straight up and thus that's what I'll be waiting for. This is a game where I want to experience everything and not have to wait months for the next chapter.

But I'm glad that they're focusing on quality over quantity (according to what they said in the recent Eurogamer article http://www.eurogamer...with-no-fantasy).

It seems the protagonist quite possibly could be set but I'm hoping we can customize their face. Judging by the Eurogamer article we won't have the option to play as a female character and our background is set. It describes the protagonist as being the son of a blacksmith. I guess it makes sense. If they're aiming for a realistic medieval game then playing as a woman would have to be a whole different game-play and story experience where a woman would have more to prove but as Joan of Arc (and others prove) it's a realistic scenario.

Edit:

And the game has already reached 100,000 on Kickstarter in less than day. With 29 days to go I'm sure this will go above its target of 300,000.

Second edit:

You need to eat and sleep to survive. With the crafting system, the non-linear story and this system I feel as if this is a true spiritual successor to the Ultima series. According to the Eurogamer article, there are 20 inventory slots. You can wear clothing and protective garments beneath armor for example. I first saw this in Dragon's Dogma but this looks like it's taken that system deeper. Due to this rich level of customization I hope the game allows us to view our character in third person while standing still and out of combat to check out the armor.

I'm afraid if you can't play as a female (and even have a set character) then this game is not for me.

We europeans grew up on Gothic, this pretty much comes with the territory.

Even my sister has no problem playing The Witcher as Geralt, she even rocked a bearded Hawke in DA2. :wizard:

I think it has to do something with the fact that the game is mostly backed by one of the richest (and not exactly the cleanest) entrepreneur in our country.

So I am guessing he wants to see how it initially fares and wheter he should keep pouring money into this project.

Well I hope that the protagonist is at least a bit more customizable in some way. I am used to playing generic white males, but boy... that guy in the trailer looks dull. And a blacksmith son? Ugh, at least it's not a sheepherder-turned-hero or some **** like that.

Speaking of the gender thing, I find their decision to be rather reasonable, given the whole realistic/authentic nature of the game (middle ages were sexist, no doubt 'bout that) which seems to take place during the Hussite wars.

Even though women did take active combatant roles with the Hussites (Stephen Turnbull and many others cover that), it's still nothing on the scale of Joan of Arc (who didn't even fight) or Boudicca to make it... plausible.

Another proud European here. Don't have any problems with accepting a set gender role, be it a man, woman or a donkey and neither does my girlfriend. Why limit yourself, right?
Also, thumbs up for mentioning the Gothic series.:wizard:

The game is FP isn't it? So why would you bother customizing a face you'll never see? Or am I missing something?

You'll see it during cutscenes or dialogues. Well, and on the inventory screen :P

I am gonna guess it's going be a bit like Gothic.

Ah, okay. I can't stand FP perspective, so I won't be bothering with this one, even though it looks awesome.

Yes, yes, I've also played as Geralt, all of the Assassin's Creed protagonists, etc., etc. I was just hoping for an outstanding new game to knock my socks off, and distract me from my usual suspects. Without a female character, it misses that mark for me. Simple as that.

I may, and probably will, change my mind about it at some point. What you witnessed was simply my immediate reaction. Image IPB

Looks pretty sweet, I'll probably back it.

Not too happy about it being on the Xbone and PS4, hopefully they won't compromise (i.e. consolize) the PC version as a result.

Wow that looked excellent. I read their blog a couple of months ago and they seemed to be struggling with trailers, but that one really nailed it.

Which is what I meant about it requiring additional work. They would have to put a significant amount of time in crafting a unique and historically accurate campaign for a female character. I suppose maybe it might be something they do for an expansion or in a future game for the series (if it does indeed turn into such). Who knows?

What's this? No dragons, no magic, no team of heroes to gather or ancient evil to overcome?

Backed.

I'm pretty sure both Project Eternity and Tides of Numenera funded faster than this.

i have serious doubts about this game and on the PS4 and XB1 the sales will like be under 100K combined, PC should cross 100-200k if it's not leaked and pirated a lot.
