 I mean at all...

I can't recall seeing a single window. Yet I keep thinking about how Wynne kept saying she felt like she was at home in the circle. If your in a place with no windows, most people consider that a cell, a box, a cubical, and most wouldn't describe that as home. The Mages might have had a reason to be a little paranoid when it came to Templars watching them every waking second, and when you think about it again after noticing the former fact, can you blame them for wanting to escape?

Templar: Hey kid, there is this huge world outside full of wonderous things, but you can't see it because your a mage! Now im going to stand in this corner and watch you stare at your thumbs for the rest of the day, and pine about the world you can't see from within these walls.

Templar 2: Hey, you girl who just come of age. I've been eyeing you since you were 12, aye you turned out right nicely you did. I'm as about as close to a worldly man as you are going to ever get. Best get use to me leering at your hindquarters.

They were talking about people jumping from the tower no? There must've been windows.

Windows are a structural weakness.

A certain mage-obsessed "Lord" would agree with you, OP. Anders would, too.

I can't blame them, myself. It would be horrible to be locked away like that. Wynne? She just managed to get used to it in such a way that she enjoyed her life there.

Go play Origins, and watch the sequence where the camera slowly zooms into the tower (with that EPIC music that plays!). If there are windows there, then yes, the mage tower did have windows. And it wasn't called the "Mage Tower". Or at least, that's not the actual name. I'd have to look it up.

If the Tower had windows it's containment would've been impossible. Can you imagine Gregoir's order to lock up the tower in "Broken Circle" being feasible if there had been windows?

Not if the tower were made with brick... and it was!

Please don't talk about feasibility. Wynne used a frost spell when you meet her in the Circle, despite not starting with any, and with enough strong mages, they could have blown a hole through the tower, anyway.

It does. But they are very high up, near the ceiling. You wouldn't be able to see directly through them. Here's a pic, note the sunlight streaming in near the ceiling through the windows.

How on earth are you supposed to jump out of that? Levitate yourself first?

So I imagine. Mages must be able to levitate, else how does Flemeth get into her portion of her hut?

I've always thought that floating up to the balcony is how she entered her portion, while Morrigan's portion is obviously the one on the ground level. Would have been a huge pain in the butt to get her grimoir if she had locked it in the second story.

I doubt the tower's mages could harness enough power to destroy it's walls that're made of unknown stone. You'd figure that Uldred's platoon of demons would've done just that.

That's why I'm holding out for a next-gen mage system. It will finally stop holding the entire magic industry back.

That is one of the reasons I kinda feel bad for PC players stuck with an isometric view. There's so many details and nice things to look at above your character's head that you can't see with an isometric view. Console versions may be worse, but they can see so many details PC players miss.

...Not that I presume which version you have.

No, because Uldred didn't WANT to destroy the tower. He wanted to take it over, as a base/starting point for his mage take-over of Thedas.

Morrigan comments that she would have flung herself from atop the Tower, one would have to wonder how she got up there and if she did then she might as well fly away because you can't just claim atop the tower from the looks of it, and even in the harrowing chamber what looks like a glass ceiling had no openings.

 Hilarious.
What do you think will be the Ingame excuse for such a setback.

They could have still had window slits big enough to stick a hand through or at least look outside with..

Nah your guess was spot on. I'm on PC and always in isometric view. I'm gonna lower it down once in a while now though.
