Traynor is a cool addition, if you fit the bill. I don't care to play Femshep and romance her, but she's a great character, period.

Thane was awesome. I'm a male/hetero, but still, he was cool. It just sucks what they did to him. They lack consistency in what they want to emphasize through the series. He was once of their poster characters for ME2, and then becomes nothing.
They lacked consistency even around the same game in regards to Thane, considering he serves no specific or necessary purpose during the suicide mission (he's a bang-up escort!). Anyway, had the Kai Leng fight been handled better, it would've been a great way for the dying character to go out.

The str femShep romances will be a sore spot in ME3 forever. They tacked Vega as a one nighter in the Citadel DLC as an afterthought (Ooops!) and hey they gave us the possibility of Javik! okay now we made up for Jacob and Thane.... guess again. Well technically Thane shouldn't have been a romance possibility anyway in ME2. They just should have given Zaeed a full face, but it would have taken away from his backstory. And to be fair how about having Miranda cheat on Shepard, too. We lose the prize, you lose dat ass.
I think they tried to balance Miranda with Jacob by giving her multiple failpoints/potential for death in Me3. It seems like they really want her to die.

The odd part is Jacob. Thane's fate was pretty much what everyone should have expected.
Thane's fate expected, but the writing still sucks even while he's alive. That's what upset people as much.

His skillset is purposeful at least. He's made to kill Collectors.

I like how the master assassin is now resorting to blindly firing a Tempest SMG over cover.

Although Kaidan and Garrus make a decent romance option.

Anyway, the amount of romances available to MShep never really swayed me much, and I still like FShep more. I only have two MSheps, and one is the biggest ****** in space who dies with the bluest nethers in the galaxy, and the other now just sticks with Ashley for the trilogy.

I wonder how many players felt a twinge of regret when Jacob uttered those fateful words: "But the priiize."
