As I said some weeks ago, heroes are lonely.

If they have had sexual relationships in the past, they tend to be shallow. Which is generally not a particularly likeable trait in people.

From my experiences with the fanbase, Garrus is very much considered those things by people who romance him. Suave, dashing, confident. Where exactly do you think those perceptions came from? Why exactly do you tihnk he was given the dance scene?

Umm did you even see his romance? He's more awkward than suave and has almost zero confidence when when femshep starts making advances on him.

Only during romance. He's very confident elsewhere.

Which goes completely against what I said.

I'm a hero, and I've had sexual relationships. And they were deep. I've also had shallow ones. And they were good memories too. Never once felt alone.

Personally, I would toned it down. Slightly. I really don't like his line of "I just want something to go right." Unfortunately, plenty of women tend to like that sort of thing.

Somewhat confident, but definitely still romantically submissive. At first, anyway.

His romance in particular is what's being discussed and he doesn't display the qualities you mentioned there, that's clearly not what draws people to him. Even TV tropes has him listed under adorkable.

That is what draws people to him. People like Garrus because he's confident and competent.

Yeeeeup. Compare Captain Jack or Han Solo with Garrus. There's really little to compare.

Han and Captain Jack win on the suave, confident, king of cool playboy vibe every time. Maybe a little McQueen as well. All the better.

No. Kaidan and Jacob are wingmen. They haven't inspired the same affection.

And it's not about the factors I just listed. He's a good combatant, but we're talking romance. He's neither for those.

You've never had a wingman have you?

You've obviously never been one based on this comment.

Kaidan get's on your case if you're renegade and when you're working for Cerberus. Jacob's reliable but doesn't like talking about himself and is initally mistrustful of you probing him with questions. Garrus won't hesitate to let you know him and doesn't judge you for decisions you make, he opens up and has your back regardless, he is the ultimate wingman.

Cuz that's so cool...

Han ****ing iced Greedo and didn't even bat an eyelash. He just got up and apathetically apologized for the mess in the middle of a crowded bar.

In becoming a vigilante and leading a team. That's hypercompetence. Should I list all the notes that touches? A leader. A warrior. A man of power.

Kaidan becomes a fellow Spectre, think that puts him on equal footing if not above Garrus in terms of competence no?

Fat lot of good it did when they all got killed. Great leadership there.

A vigilante isn't a warrior, a vigilante is a vigilante.

And man of power? He takes second step to Shepard the second he shows up.

Hypercompetent isn't something I'd throw out lightly. And Garrus certainly isn't hypercompetent.

I'm sure Miranda is none of those things? Or Jacob? Or Kaidan? They're all expressly mentioned to do the same, and they're competent enough not to have everyone get killed, and solve their own problems with the team.
