Now, I've done every romance in ME except the guy-on-guy ones (MaleShep/Kaidan, MaleShep/Cortez), though that's just because I don't really want to see any guy-on-guy action on my tv. I'm all for gay rights and everything, but that doesn't mean I'm ok with watching it.
Back on topic: I think that if BW didn't make Jacob cheat on FemShep, it would have been a great romance. Not as good as FemShep/Garrus, but still up there.
I tend to feel a bit sorry for FemShep in the romance category, because out of the 5 LI's available from ME1 and ME2, only 3 three actually make it through ME3. Then Traynor is added in ME3 too.
Think about it: MaleShep has 7 romances in the entire trilogy, none of which are scripted to end in tragedy no matter what. FemShep has 6 romances and 2 end abruptly in ME3. So, technically, FemShep only has 4 romances.
In the next ME, they should do the romances similar to how they were done in DA2. Nearly everyone is a possible LI for male or female Hawke, so you don't have an imbalance in romances just because you chose to play as one gender rather than the other.
Well, you can set Tali up to kill herself. That's a somewhat tragic end to that romance. I do think FemShep didn't get the same options as the others. I didn't really care for the romance angles in DA2. I'm more a fan of characters having fleshed out backstories and personalities. I don't like the idea of sexual preferences changing just so the protagonist can get his/her booty. If a character is gay or bi, that's fine with me, so long as it makes sense with who they are. I didn't like how Anders suddenly became homosexual if you played a Male Hawke, and straight if you played a female Hawke.
