OCD for the constant 255 across the board.

I expect at least half of my ops packs to get eaten and have me die anyway.

Then I gel, get gunned down, gel again, try to hit an ops pack and still get gunned down.

I don't like to depend on either of them because they are just too unreliable. Gelling into an instakill is one of the most rage inducing things in this game for me and so is getting shot down and have my ops pack activate when I'm down.

I fully expect to use a gel after an ops pack and vice versa.

Yeah Ops packs are the ones that run out for me too. Thank the stars for JEP's.

Given the choice i'd rather stay in the fight (helping my squad & scoring points) than lie on the floor debating whether to wait for a revive that might not come or use medi-gel. It's become even more important since playing Gold.

Another big impact recently is the number of less experienced players with low level gear & weapons. A lot of randoms have one or more of these which puts the experienced players under more pressure to compensate. So you take more flack & pop more ops packs!

OPs are fairly decent when you learn to use them. You can tank a nade, quick instakill, etc.

Medi Gel works, ops packs never do. That is difference between the two for me.

Aside from their lag dependance ops packs are better

I end up using more Ops packs then gels simply because they don't work so well off host. And even on host they don't work all that well.

Sure they can save you in a pinch but, at least for me, they fail more often then they succeed. Gels on the other hand always work. Now gelling into a insta-kill sucks but the gel itself worked just fine.

You don't host much. You have to use them completely differently off host IMHO.

Yeah, I think I curse ops packs more than anything else in this game...

Ops Pack. Medi-Gels are too unreliable once you get gunned down every time you wake back up.

I prefer to use Ops Packs too.  I end up using more medigels though, because the effect of me hitting the Ops Pack button breaks down to approximately:
- 25% of the time I use an Ops Pack, I die anyway, but I have full health and shields when I get back up
- 15% of the time, I end up pulling out a missile instead, which I guess is helpful for clearing space when I get up
- 15% of the time, I end up hitting the medigel button, which means I die and instantly gel myself.
- 10% of the time, the Ops Pack works, but I get stunlocked and end up dying anyway
- 35% of the time, the Ops Pack works, and I get to cover and everybody's happy.

I use Ops Packs a lot, but they end up lagging quite a bit. Often, I'll hit an Ops Pack and die in the time it takes to activate, leaving me dead and down one Ops Pack.

It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough that I want to hire the Slayer to chop someone through a solid wall with a space magic sword.

I would say, roughly in my first 400 hours of play, med-gel was the item I was always close to running out of ...

Since that time, it has became OPs packs which are more frequently used (nothing like a nice, shiny off host corpse)

Although comparing these two is irrelevant for me as it is always missiles which run to almost nothing before I mass purchase JEPs to re-equip all in game consumables .. speaking of which, I believe I am getting to that point ..

Ops packs off-host are (most of the time) going to be useless if you use them RIGHT before you die, or if you use them while you're already getting shot at. Use them when you anticipate damage.

As soon as your shields go down and you see an atlas, prime, scion, or phantom about to shoot you, use an ops pack. Use an ops pack right before reviving a teammate during those oh-crap moments where you're already overrun to avoid a game of revive tag. etc.

On host and off, I am constantly using them, and as long as I use them right they won't get wasted.
I think I have less than 10 of each right now. I am in a perpetual battle for jumbos.

I am always way lower on rockets than I am on any of the other 3 consumables.

Medigel, a constant battle to have enough, have been very unlucky in getting enough from various packs to build up a decent supply.

I start getting the shakes if I'm near 200 of any consumables...

Don't judge me.

OT - I try to Ops more often under the logic that preventing a nap means things are dying quicker. If I have to gel, I'm not making things dead. As others have said, all bets are off when off-host though.

To be honest- Medi gels are lag dependent too, but not as much as Ops pack.... I had a few occasions were I bleed out even after mashing the medi gel button and it was not working.

I used to never use ops packs because I didn't know what they did and now I use them all before I'll even considering gelling most of the time.

I'm always out of ops packs. I also lose probably one a match as useless.
