This would be less of a factor because this is not a PvP game.

Also... Your other point about getting farther and farther from the enemy... Hello Lightsabers... And space magic... At the same time. Ohh yeah...

This isn't optimized space warfare.. it's a sci-fi video game.

the only reason lightsabers work is because the starforce universe got hit with the idiot ball and started using blasters instead of normal projectiles, and lightsabers  magically deflect them.

Also the force, which is literally magic.

Indeed. Star wars is science fantasy, not fiction.

For my Warlord, I'd like to use the hammer for launching a Volus bowling ball into enemies.  Everyone one-hit-kill would be a 'hole in one!':devil:

If not, then dual war hammers. I could have a lot of fun with two hammers instead of one.:o

Gamer, your post is full of awesomeness! Especially the Volus-hitting part!

Solid, I honestly never knew they ever allowed that. That would've been on hell of a Weekend Challenge, opportunity.

Almost sounds more like croquet.  He could wear a white matching trousers and sweater.

A long, long time ago. In a galaxy far, far away. But due to the limitations of light, it would take several millenia for the light these events gave off to reach earth. Thus it would be far into our future before we could see these events occurred.

Duh.

There's only one "long".  And what makes you think the light hasn't reached us yet?  And how come the future and the past are only defined by when earthlings are aware of it?  Maybe the light reached George Lucas in the 70's, and he thought, "Whatever's going on in that far, faraway galaxy, it would make a great movie!"  Unfortunately, the sound was way slower than the light (and wasn't so good at making its way through empty space), so George had to write his own dialogue.  Pity, that.

Because the closest galaxy to our own, the Andromeda Galaxy, is 2.5 million light-years away. Star wars took place in a galaxy far, far away.

The force can stop slugs in their tracks... Slug thrower weapons still exist in the star wars universe, just not in the movies. I used to play the D&D style game..

According to KOTR, they still have edged weapons.

Mass Effect is gun-centric by design. Step away from that and we will be rushing into Warhammer 40k territory.

Omni tool is not a gun. And the gadget that "tunes" biotic powers is (was) called biotic amp.

ME 1 was quite an interesting combo of gunplay and powers. ME2 was a pure garbage.
I enjoy the variability of ME 3 gameplay, and don't want to be restricted by this light/heavy gun/power/melee BS.

Melee is only a last-resort/anti-husk measure. In ME universe. Real Krogans use shotgun, not the stupid hummer. Krogans love firearms grenades and kabooms. Yep I still care about lore (the reason I despise the kits like krolord, cabal, sexbot).

But if we have melee only kits in ME4, I would like to have a Taki and Mitsu (will by the gamepad for dat).

Sounds pretty far away to me.  It would take me weeks to swim that far.  Maybe the "far, far away" doesn't mean relative to other galaxies (although the second "far" makes that a weak premise).  But 2.5 million years is a long time ago.

You're right, it was some totally different reference point they used. Star Wars actual takes place in the Milky Way, and it's us that is far away from some arbitrary reference point.

They had edged weapons in the WotC game that Mega is talking about. They had edged weapons way back in the West End Games version that preceded the WotC version. As well as slugthrower style weapons. Slugthrowers were used by less advanced cultures, like the Tusken Raiders. They also showed that in one of the videogames...I think it was Jedi Power Battles.

I believe Dark Horse's SW comics series came up with the idea that the ancient Sith used physical blades instead of lightsabers. This idea was also imported into the WotC SW RPG. WotC seemed to be going out of its way to transform Star Wars into D&D with all that stuff, but whatever. People seemed to enjoy playing it.
