I think the Mass Effect trilogy will be remembered as a masterpiece of entertainment, a magnum opus as it were. Especially with them personalizing the story for long term fans.

Yay!...can we have it at the same time as the yanks now, please? *puppy eyes*
Done
Though I only went for the normal free delivery; in the past I've still had the game the day before release with that option.
I'll be working until the weekend anyway though, so limited play time until then; but any is better than none!

On exploration - “There seemed to be less planets you could actually land on and explore in Mass Effect 2, but those you could offered a more diverse crop of distractions: some based around combat, some not requiring a single bullet, some that played like self contained vignettes, some that spiralled off into multi-part crusades spanning the entire galaxy.”
this comment bothers me as I was not even fully satisfied with the exploration in Mass Effect 1..
No need to bother. Here is a little more on the subject of exploration from the same review.
"Bioware has greatly improved on the vast, empty worlds that populated the fringes of Mass Effect. There seemed to be less planets you could actually land on in Mass Effect 2, but those you could offered a more diverse crop of distractions: some based around combat, some not requiring a single bullet, some that played like self contained vignettes, some that spiralled off into mulit-part crusades spanning the entire galaxy...And you'll be discovering plenty, because Bioware shows a commendable reluctance to repurpose content. In fact, the Citadel is the only significant location to appear in both games and the parts you are able to explore are all unique to MassEffect 2."
It looks like the side quests, and their locations, will all be different. No more go to planet X, drive to the same warehouse you have seen a dozen times elsewhere, fight baddies, finish quest. I'm hoping we'll be treated to one or two side quests along the lines of the runaway droid in KOTOR (my favourite side quest ever).

Yeah I'm overhyped too, so much that I literally just called every STORE within a 25 mile radius asking if they would take a tip to sell me the game early. lol

"It's a masterpiece. The quality of the writing alone would make for an enjoyable game even if graphically it wasn't so beautiful. The plotting and background detail would make for a TV show that would be adored by millions but the branching possibilities of your decisions make sure that if there were a TV show made it just wouldn't work anywhere near as well. Indeed, the game makes linear concepts seem incredibly archaic."

You weren't satisfied with Mass1 Exploration because, for lack of a better term, it sucked. "Seemed" is the keyword here, and it depends on how you define content. There is a march larger "Exploration" Mechanic, and many more planets, but fewer of them probably have the N7 missions that Mass 1 had. This is definitely in my feeling, going to be a case of "Quality trumping quantity". With a great base game, and a good sized but not incredible amount of actual planets to land on, comes a great jumping platform for proper DLC N7's, and (Oh please Bioware, Please) a Full Blown Expansion.
With Mass2 Exploration, it LOOKS (havn't played yet) a lot more satisfying. I posted in the original forums long ago about how the exploration was kind of just, meh, because it didn't offer any closure. If the Side content is well done, with proper closure, then by any stretch, it will be more satisfying than an 900 dollar prostitute.

not just say, less combat more rpg, more character, and the typhical things fans tend to say. Or i want to be able to fly..and things that dont belong to this kind of universe.
they have improve tons of things, like the combat system, more fluent now, the mako control(fans consensus), and some slow elevators for example..ohh and now normandy is more realistic, with beds and bathrooms LOL.
Those are great little details that help bioware guys make even better games.

And before "Oooh, look at the PC elitist lolz" I'm a console gamer through and through, I'm just not blinded by fanboish zealotry and can acknowledge great titles on any platform.
Where on PC, Mass Effect 2 is like an amazing Lay for the 20th time. on Consoles it's like losing your virginity in a tantric orgasm of delight.

I will love this game, and most of you will too. After beating it, i will list some of the things that bioware could improve for the next installment, and when i mean improve, im talking about making it even better, or try to help them with cool ideas.

One thing that shocked me in the improvement department was the Digital Acting. Watching the Sci Vs. Fi thing last night, facial expressions and in VERY particular, the eyes. The "Eye Strike Team" had their work cut out for them, and they tackled in the likes of which is hard to see even on REAL actors.

Games TM again, this time on the game's characters:
"This is a career-best work from Bioware, and few studios have a track record so replete with memorable characters."
