Games like Dragon Age/Mass Effect are difficult to come by. RPG... Choices... Multiple branches... But with a little work, you can find them.
btw, Bioware keep up the good work, I'm loving what I have seen so far

Witcher Series:
Dark Fantasy RPG
Romances? Yes --- Choices matter? Yes --- People react to you differently? More or less --- Different genders? No, only male
While some love it, others hate it. Why? No idea. I love it though.
But it is the closest rival to Dragon Age. It's Dark Fantasy, you have choices
Witcher is not afraid of the video game industry taboos. While most games just "pass through" this kind of issues, witcher mentions them.
That's why most people call this game sexist. Why? Because it mentions rape (there are no scenes, it is just mentioned) and Witcher 1 was a little bold (too much IMO). You basically collected sex cards. You could even sleep with a goddess. Yeah...
And there are no good or bad choices. You just do what you do. In fact, I had the feeling I was always choosing the lesser evil during the whole game.
1:

Alpha Protocol:
Modern-Spy RPG
Romances? Yes --- Choices matter? Yes --- People react to you differently? Yes --- Different genders? No, only male
Made from our beloved Obsidian, it's a good game when it comes to story, when it comes to gameplay...
It's a stealth game, but the problem is that the enemy AI is really really really buggy. One moment they can hear you from miles, the other they can't even see you in front of them.
But if you can tolerate it, it's a good game. Why? The way you do things affect the story. The world doesn't wait for you. Your personality affects the opinion of others of you. Even if you didn't even meet them yet. The story isn't "OMG WHAT A TWIST!", it's simple cliche story "Big company wants to profit from the world caos and you have to stop them". But it's still good.
Loyalty carries a price and no one knows this more than agent Michael Thorton. A talented young agent cast out by his government, Thorton is the only one with the information needed to stop an impending international catastrophe. To do so means he must cut himself off from the very people he is sworn to protect. As players determine how to accomplish different objectives, the decisions made and actions taken in each mission will ultimately transform the type of secret agent Michael Thorton will become. Every choice the player makes as Michael Thorton will carry consequences for his future and the fate of the world.

Divinity Dragon Commander:
RPG-RTS-TBS-TPS Fantasy
Romances? Yes --- Choices matter? +/- --- People react to you differently? Yes --- Different genders? No, only male
If I told you to imagine a real time strategy game with RPG elements, you would probably say "This game would suck". Well, Divinity Dragon Commander proves you wrong. It's a game with a bold proposal and mixed really well all those elements. If you like strategy and RPG, this game is a must-have.
You have to manage your military units, make political decisions, and help your generals and queen.
I put +/- on choices because your generals and queen will turn out differently depending on your choices regarding their story arc. The political ones, will affect your campaign map. But all in all, there is only one ending.
You are the Dragon Commander. Your mission it is to reunite a broken empire and become the new emperor. Success depends entirely on your ability to efficiently rule your empire, build invincible armies and lead them to victory. Your secret weapons: your tactical insights, your leadership skills and your ability to turn yourself into a dragon. Dragon Commander is not just any strategy game - it seamlessly blends real-time strategy gameplay with turn-based campaigning, role-playing an ascending emperor and controlling a formidable dragon.

TellTalle... Those guys just love to play with your feelings. When you start to play this, just remember: it's a cruel world and TellTalle treated it as it should be.

The Wolf Among Us:
Story driven game, fables, dark atmosphere
Romances? No, there are hints though --- Choices matter? Yes --- People react to you differently? Yes --- Different genders? No, only male
TellTalle strikes again. At first I thought this game would suck, but well, they proved me wrong.
From the makers of the 2012 Game of the Year: The Walking Dead, comes a gritty, violent and mature thriller based on the award-winning Fables comic books (DC Comics/Vertigo). As Bigby Wolf - THE big bad wolf - you will discover that a brutal, bloody murder is just a taste of things to come in a game series where your every decision can have enormous consequences.

Binary Domain:
Third-Person Shooter, future robot
Romances? Yes, but it is scripted --- Choices matter? No choices --- People react to you differently? Yes --- Different genders? No, only male
It's not exactly a RPG, and there are no choices. Basically this game focus on your relationship with your companions. The higher your relationship, more chances of your companions carrying out your orders and the ending depends on that as well.
The gameplay is really good as well. If there is the most underrated game ever prize, this one deserves it. The bad marketing made this game die young (the ending suggests a sequel, shame...).
THE MACHINE AGE HAS BEGUN in this immersive and atmospheric squad-based shooter in which you need to regain control of a futuristic Tokyo from an emerging robotic threat.
Set in 2080, the story starts when Dan Marshall and his squad are sent to bring the robotic community under control as they begin to infiltrate society and slowly take over undetected, leaving humans redundant in their wake.
Thrilling encounters with highly intelligent robotic enemies require you to think tactically, make challenging, real-time moral decisions and build up trust with your team mates in order to guide your squad to safety and success.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution:
Futuristic RPG, stealth game (or not, you can assault but I don't recomend it)
Romances? No --- Choices matter? Yes --- People react to you differently? Yes --- Different genders? No, only male
The only thing I don't like about this game is the protagonist. I guess it's a question of taste, but his seriousness could get on my nerves. It's +/- like Geralt of Rivia, but just not as well made IMO.
You play Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT specialist who's been handpicked to oversee the defensive needs of one of America's most experimental biotechnology firms. Your job is to safeguard company secrets, but when a black ops team breaks in and kills the very scientists you were hired to protect, everything you thought you knew about your job changes.

The Banner Saga
Viking style strategy-RPG
Romances? No (I think) --- Choices matter? Yes --- People react to you differently? Yes --- Different genders? Multiple protagonists, but the main one is male
I buyed this on Steam day one. It's really a beautifull game, but I still didn't complete it. There are many choices and they define the endings and how the others see you. The main protagonist is a father who saved his village and is running away from an invasion. The choices can be unforgiving, because if you want to save everyone, you'll risk killing everyone from hunger.
Live through an epic role-playing Viking saga where your strategic choices directly affect your personal journey. Make allies as you travel with your caravan across this stunning yet harsh landscape. Carefully choose those who will help fight a new threat that jeopardizes an entire civilization. Every decision you make in travel, conversation and combat has a meaningful effect on the outcome as your story unfolds. Not everyone will survive, but they will be remembered.

Loren The Amazon Princess
Fantasy RPG
Romances? Yes --- Choices matter? Yes --- People react to you differently? Yes --- Different genders? Yes, human male or female elf
I thought twice before posting this, because I don't like to recommend something I didn't try. But the reviews are pretty good and most people on steam are recommending it, so as soon I get a new paysafecard I will buy it and give my opinion.
Loren The Amazon Princess is a fantasy epic combining intricate turn-based battles with a heroic tale of overcoming evil -- with a twist! In this tale, you play as a loyal servant of the hero rather than the hero herself.
Travel by Princess Loren's side as she searches for her lost mother, the Queen of the Amazons. Guide her choices and act as her valiant defender, meeting many colorful characters along the way. As the journey progresses, everyone will grow and change -- character development in games isn't dead! It's also impossible to see all the content in just one playthrough, with so many ways to customize the characters.
Hardcore role-playing games with replay value are becoming rarer in today's age of simplification for the masses. The developers of the hit title Planet Stronghold have dedicated themselves to keeping old-school RPGs alive through this new adventure.
GAME FEATURES
Customize Your Hero: Play as a male or female warrior or thief. Decide their backstory, initial stats, and personality. Help them rise from humble servant to legendary hero!
