I've been trying to keep up with all the info we've been given regarding DA:I, but not sure I've heard/read all of it. One thing I've been wondering about (especially now that I'm replaying the previous games) is regarding tactics. That is, tactics we can "program" on our companions. I would like it if we could do more advanced tactics, for example say that several conditions have to be met for a companion to do something. Let me give an example:

Lets say we use Varric (since he's a confirmed companion). Since he'll like bring Bianca, and therefore be focused on ranged, I would like to give him something like this:
"If attacked, and attacker is using melee attack -> use Evade"
or perhaps
"If attacked, and attacker is using a magic attack -> use Rush".

Maybe even something like
"If Main Character is surrounded by atleast 3 enemies, and health < 50% -> use Miasmic Flask"

These examples ofcourse use skills from DA ][, but I hope you see where I am going with this.

So, my question is this: have we gotten any info regarding this? And also I'm curious as to what the rest of you think of this.

I don't know what kind of resources advanced tactics require, but assuming that multiple checks will not put too much strain on an average computer, I would like to see this.
This may actually make it look like our companions are not stupid...

That's my thought exactly. It can't be That difficult to programme, and would make one heck of a difference (IMO)

As far as how it's worked in the past, it's a matter of coming up with arguments and how to match them together. Not to mention accounting for bugs. There were a lot of bugs with the tactics system in both Origins and DA2.
