So I just started my 4th playthrough of the game since I got it in December and still no signs of it becomming tiring - except maybe for that slightly frustrating Load Times bug.

I just wanted to let any of you Bioware guys know that might be reading this that I'm enjoying this game unlike anything I've played recently.

I never was an RPG fan and I remember back when I was in 6th or 7th grade when my buddies were playing Baldurs Gate I was enjoying Doom2. I never gave it a chance really as Dvarves and Elves was never my thing, instead I was hooked on techy stuff. But Dragon Age managed to bring out the beauty of the middle ages I wasn't able to see before.

Now I'm kind of disapointed I wasn't more into RPGs back then, it seems kind of too late to start playing those games now, does it? Dragon Age is a worthy investment and every PC should have one.

Good job and can't wait for the expansion.

If you can get over the 'hump' of dealing with outdated tech, then there is no reason to avoid old classics.

Sadly... I can't overcome this 'hump' myself. *hangs head in shame*

Got bored after 3rd playthrough, and I was rushing just to get the achievements of 20 in warrior and mage..

Will not play again till the console patch arrives that fixes dex, then I'll play again with a solo rogue.

*Hugs* As someone who plays, and enjoys, MUDs I feel very sorry for you. Image IPB

That's partly my problem too. Outdated graphics, plus control and design styles have changed dramatically over the years.

I don't know whether your playing PC/PS3/360. but if you download DAO onto 360 hard drive it almost eliminates load times.

PC. There's a known bug where the loading times increase the longer you play the game :)

I use this program called Memturbo (I'm using a free trial of version 4 which i downloaded about a year ago and it still works wonders.) It dumps your RAM when it starts getting full.. or some technical mumbo-jumbo like that. Works as a pretty good band aid for memory leak related problems if you set its sliders to ~50 each.

When I play the game with it running and minimized to the tray the load times never get as long (up to 5 minutes+) as they do without it.

I originally got it for GTA4 on the PC and hit helped a bit with its memory leakish problems as well.

Is dex just not properly affecting bows or is it messed up for melee as well for consoles? I should probably know this already but I'm still on my first play through and was interested in going rogue on the second on the xbox 360.

Well, on my second run here and not nearly as bored as I thought I'd be. There is a lot of new experiences to be had depending on different choices you make. There's just so much to see, you have to give it more than one run through. There's also this nice level of comfort that comes from multiple playings of great games that I enjoy, where you know how to take on fights, where to go first, and how to set up your party and their tactics nicely. It's much the same in the way that BGII is continually satisfying. Some of those quests never seem to get dull.

As an aside, what is the status on the dex hotfix exaclty? Was it fixed? It seems there was a patch, then there wasn't? Huh? Though my rogues seem to be destroying dudes just fine without it. I dunno.

I'm working on my 4th as well with a lot of partials as well - ie did all the origins stories at least.  Trying to get the achievements and whatnot.

I want to replay my first one but not sure if I can do it again with the same character; missed some stuff that I found/looked up later.  Think that's the character I want for my expansion play through first tho.

I can't speak for Slarth, or anyone else, but the companions are what make it replayable, not your choice of PC. I've completed as a Human archer rogue 3 times now, all with different mainstay companions.

This.
I have started BG 2 and PS:T like 3 times each and I always give up quickly. I don't care so much about the graphics, but the interfaces are so clunky, the gameplay so dated, and the d&d rules so annoying that I just can't go on.
Also, games like DAO and Kotor have me really spoiled, I need all dialogs to be spoken now.
As for DAO i'm on my third playthrough, and I'm planning to complete the game with all origins, and get enough ending permutations so I can test them in Awakening :o
