It seems that Varric and Sigrun are two of the most popular companions here on BSN. I think that if either of them would have been romance options, a lot of people would have pursued it. And let's not even discuss Dagna, who was a minor NPC, but gets mentioned more than several of the major companions. She's practically at Cullen levels of fandom. I know that Gaider has expressed that he just doesn't find dwarf romance appealing, but I'm thinking that as the series progresses, it will eventually make sense to write a dwarf companion that ends up being a romanceable option. I just don't think it will be in DA: I, unfortunately.

I just want the option for a dwarf romance. Someone new, not necessarily Sigrun or Varric. If I like their personality more than the other romance options than I'll more than likely romance them if I don't screw it up :P. I don't understand this whole height problem :/ As far as I know people can't control how tall they get so why should I judge them based on something they can't control, that's as deep down as their genetics?

And speaking of Bianca, I hope she's alive and I hope her and Varric meet and have a heart to heart like Oghren and his squeeze did in Awakening.

Because it's unattractive. They look fat too.

Everything about this post is wrong and offensive.

First, it's wrong because real life little people do not look like fantasy Dragon Age dwarves.

Second, it's offensive because there's nothing wrong with the way that woman looks.

Nothing about her appearance makes her unworthy of love or romantic interest.

I'm officially grossed out by humanity.

Which is exactly why you shouldn't engage in a romance with a dwarf.  Other people don't think that it's unattractive so they will engage in those romances if they are offered.  I didn't find Morrigan, Leliana, Merrill, OR Isabella to be attractive.  Doesn't mean that they shouldn't include female LI's.  Different strokes, right?

Oh I'm not opposed to it or anything. I'd love a Varric romance with my femdwarf character.

The real lady actually looks better, especially when it comes to the size of the head and waist.
The comic one looks uncomfortable, like someone cut her head off, made the body shorter and wider, then put the head back on unchanged.

So if this is what the real Bianca looks like, I'd definetly want to meet her.

On Topic:
I'd love a dwarf romance, especially with a tough dwarf warrior, who doesn't brood, can hold down a drink and is the last one standing in a fight.
(Still, they should have a personality beyond being a dwarf. )

Yes! I would really like a dwarf romance. My Warden had a fling with Gorim in DA:O, but except for that the games have had disappointingly little dwarf-loving.
I especially want a Varric romance.

It's sad how as a society we have fallen into some sort of massive, widespread hypocresy regarding beauty and attractiveness.

As for romanceable dwarfs, I have nothing for or against it. I wish does who do want it the best of lucks.

Sometime I just wish we could have their name, street adress and their photo. Than just have the crap they post follow them anywhere they go. Like eh . Look at me. I posted this on a forum. They would look so brillant.

Most woman in video game are just fantaisies of men. I don't want to sound like a feminist because well. I am a man lol, but that actually very true. Seeing the negative reaction of many people toward the new Cassandra kinda reflected this idea. Juvenile or perv who want their fantaisies fix. I wonder how dev like Gaider think about this. It would be fun to have a romance that ain't a walking air brushed men fantasies. Maybe Cassandra will play that role. Some people need to date real human being and stop watching porn. Like seriously.

Where dem Sigrun fanboys at?

Right here, sounding off.  I always felt like Sigrun and Nathaniel were the two Awakening companions most deserving of more screen time.  Nathaniel got his in DA2, so why not Sigrun in DA:I?  Perhaps as the new leader of the Legion of the Dead in Orzammar?

Does anyone else want a male and/or female dwarf romance? I've been hankering for one since I played DA:O! I've been wanting a good amount of my Wardens to female dwarfs and one of my Hawkes to romance Varric. Hopefully theirs a dwarf romance option in Inquisition. Would make me the happiest school boy! <3

We talking about Varric in this thread???

VARRIC!

Image IPB

He is the Garrus of Dragon Age... at least in my opinion. I love him and he is a total bro. Not that interested in romancing him or  interested in any other Dwarves, especially female. Cassandra is far more my style. Still... I don't see why not. Sometimes people can be up tight about this kind of thing but I see that he has A LOT of fans. Straight women and gay men are really going to have a hard time choosing if Cullen and Varric are the two options. <3

No reason that DA:I shouldn't have a dwarf romance option. I mean 2 games and a major expansion, and we still haven't had one yet?!

Humans that were romance options.
DA:O
Alistair
Morrigan
Lilliana

Elf
Zevran

Dwarf
none

DA2

Human
Isabella
Sebastian
Anders

Elf
Fenris
Merrill

Dwarf
none

So that is...
6 humans
3 elves
0 dwarves

This needs to change.

Brush your teeth:
you have to distingush between dwarfs/dwarfism and midgets:

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/dwarf

http://www.thefreedi...nary.com/midget

In fantasy the dwarves are a race, hence they're proportioned.
In the real world dwarfs are due to genetic abnormalities and hence as the definition says have misproportioned limbs.

So it's not the same.

It's fantasy verses human biology.

shrugs.

Fantasy dwarves aren't even really that short. They are a littlemunder 5 ft tall. They are just some what shorter then normal humans. Hell, DA dwarves are only 3-5 inches shorter than elves. I noticed this with my female dwarf stands next to Zevran in Origins.  He is only a few inches taller than she is. No clue why romancing one seems to be such a big deal to some people?

BTW, I am pretty sure Gaider never said that he was against a dwarven romance.BioWare actually has this thing for not letting dwarves be in romance. In fact, of all of BioWare games, Dragon Age: Origins was the first to let non-humans, non-elves and non-half-elves to have a romance. So, if anything, it's thet BioWare is against dwarven romances, not Gaider (though he has been a part of many BW games, including Baldur's Gate 2, which first introduced romances in a BW game).

Somewhat debatable.
He has given the impression he has issues with it.
Finding an exact quote buried somewhere in the pages of the BSN combing thread after thread where Gaider has commented isn't feasible imo.

Uh huh... Indeed.

However, my point is that BioWare has never allowed the player to romance a dwarf, and Origins was the first game where a dwarf could romance someone. In BG2, only humans, elves and half-elves were allowed to have a romance. If you played a dwarf, a gnome, a halfling or a half-orc, you were not able to romance anyone.
