The "it has been spoken" part of that post is my resignation to the fact that people on the BSN have decided I have something against dwarf romances, and that's the reason we haven't done one. So it must be true, right? I've elaborated previously, but there's no point in doing it every time if people keep bringing it up. So whatever.
I will re-iterate what's in that post, however, that I'm not about to include a romance plot with a dwarf simply to do so. Nobody has a "right" to a dwarf romance, period the end. I wouldn't mind doing one eventually, but if it happens it'll simply be because we like the character and one of the writers has an idea for how it would work.

And there were a few about qunari flying around, too. Honestly, I can see how asking a romance only for the race seems... shallow. And as a writer, I wouldn't want to create a character whose original, basic description is "romanceable dwarf".

Agreed 100%. I don't support the idea of a character being created for romance.

That being said, I think Sigrun was a character ripe for romancing regardless of whether she was Dwarf, Elf, Qunari, Tevinter, Darkspawn, etc. Maybe some people are asking for the "right" to a Dwarf romance, but I think the majority are simply asking for the "opportunity" to romance an otherwise awesome standalone Dwarf character.

True that.
Players like certain characters who just happen to be dwarfs and hence want to romance them.

Just the oppurtunity. Just saw plenty of female dwarves in DA:O that I wanted a Warden to romance. Don't want someone to create a character made specfically for the purpose of romance. Just found it weird there were no dwarven romances up to this point is all.

Gorim said he was married.
My lady Aeducan wasn't attracted to male dwarves, but not opposed to others who are.

Gorim got married once he was surface. He wasn't while he was my second and my Lady Aeducan was all about the Gorim at that point.

What's up with all this "I want to romance Varric!!11!!!one1!!" stuff? We've all seen what happened to Anders when he became romancable lol
Awakening Anders > DA2 Anders
I still hit that! Bought Dragon Age 2 solely to make an Anders Love Story and does not regret one bit. That's a weak argument implying that making Anders romancable is what caused them to make him moody.

Yes some players want to romance Varric.
I don't but but some players do.
If Bianca is still alive that won't happen.

Gorim was actually one of the best written Bioware romances imo. Too bad it couldn't end any better. :/

HA! I had to go back and look at what you were talking about. I changed my profile pic from my Lady Aeducan to my Lord Aeducan yesterday. Nope, that's a man, man. However, he would have romanced Gorim if given an option too.

Also I kinda hope they do make Varric a romance option but only if you play as a Dwarf.
