Being a hybrid is my favorite way to go in pretty much any RPG so I was just wondering if we will see the return of Hybrid Specializations in DAI.

In the past DA games we have had specializations like Arcane Warrior, Reaver, Spirit Warrior. That or our companions have had them.

However I would like to see more. By more I mean specializations that bridge the gap between classes.

Specifically speaking between mages & rogues. Previously we have had Arcane Warrior (Mage Warrior Hybrid) , Reaver (Blood-Derived Magic Warrior Hybrid) & Spirit Warrior (Mage Warrior Hybrid) but we never really had a hybrid for mage & rogue.

I mean if you think hard about it the Shadow specialization seems like a mage rogue hybrid since I don't think anyone in Thedas has the ability to create Decoys Omni-Tool style so it must be done via magic somehow but it never felt like magic. Never had the backgroud lore & ability of the Reaver and the Spirit Warrior. No energy drawing from the Fade / potent blood sources.

So can we have Mage Rogue Hybrid specialization for DAI ?

It could be possible to combine the shadow with some form of magic to create Illusionist specialization. Illusionist can create decoy using magic or use magic to disguise themselves. Sort of like Loki in Avengers & Thor movies. Think of the possibilites & the awesomeness !

Or a rogue that participates in a blood ritual and gains powers that use blood. Using the power gained from the blood to make oneself truly invisible or to mind control or empower one's weapon with one's own blood to deal spirit damage over time..Like what Cole did.

Thoughts & opinions ?

Hybrid specializations are often my favorites as well, particularly magic-based talents for Rogues (yeah I miss Flicker...) and Arcane Warriors (partially alleviated by all classes being able to wear armor). And it's something I'd like to see even more if we're only going to be able to have one specialization.

Precisely. If we can only have one specialization, I would like to have one that suits my character best....

The thing is, there shouldn't really be hybrid specializations in DA, at least any with magic abilities. You are either a mage or not in DA, you can't learn to be a mage anymore than you can learn to have blue eyes. Those few hybrid like specs (Reaver) obtain some mage like abilities through ritual (similiar to Warden abilities) - Spirit Warrior is just a stupid, overpowered spec and should be forgotten.

I really liked Tallis's Hybridishy spec where she had some Templar-esque abilities to fight mages.
