Not to be annoying, but what is the problem? Is it that Suze isn't a lesbian?

I'm sorry but 6 entire hetero romances crosses the line from not catering to "we're rubbing it in your face!"

So most action and sci-fi films that have solely heteorsexual romances are rubbing it in the faces of homosexuals everywhere?

Also, by the way, you do realise that presuming a strong, unashamed, unconventional looking, shaved headed female is automatically a lesbian/bisexual is pretty heavy stereotyping on your part? It's your own fault for jumping the gun.

Actually, I think both sounds like rather fun characters. :) Can't wait to belittle both of them as my borderline-fascist renegade FemShep. I AM THE LAW! I AM *ABOVE* THE LAW! She's like a female Judge Dredd in space. :D

If I was Bioware and had been forced by other forces outside my control to nix all homosexual romance options, I would have sneakily added the ability to proposition same-sex squad members and then kill them instantly if they refused to put out.

Evil FemShep: "Hey Zero, wanna do something REALLY bad?"

Subject Zero: "No f@[$ing way you sick f&*£ing f@#£ing freak!"

Evil FemShep options:

1. "Fair enough"

2. "WAAAHhhhhhh"

3. [Shoot Her]

4. [Cancel Preorder].

What will YOU choose?! >.>

Poor Subject Zero. She had the makings of such a fanatical fanbase and it's all now been blown away. :(

Your opinion and your entitled to it, I guess I am in that smaller percentage that is still having her in my fairly xeno-phobic renegade femshep's team and as one of the main party members most likely. Then again that is because my femshep is all about the business of kicking butt. Ain't got time for no romancing.

Seriously why do people hate characters in such a way? Especially ones that they hardly know anything truly about yet.

I try to say this but no one ever listens.

Way to miss the point. When there are that many romances by a company that used to try and cater above the mainstream, something is up.

Despite being very vocal on the forum, I don't think lesbians make up a significant proportion of the playerbase. As such, we could just as easily say Bioware has been rubbing homosexuality in our face for a long time. Not that I'm biased against it, just stating facts as I see it.

How do you know it was nixed, how do you know they just didn't plan for it?

As to it being normal, it is accepted.  But at least in Western society, Americans at least, it is far from normal.

I use the term acceptance with a fair amount of leniency.

My paragon FemShep will be quite happy in Samara's arms. Subject Zero can watch from the drive core and pine if she's up to it.

Is anyone besides me aware the EA produced the Sims 3. A game where homosexual couples can get married? Anyone?

Don't get me wrong, I want to **** slap the Mass Effect 2 staff for not putting in a homosexual romance options just like every other sensible person, I just don't think it's EA's fault.

Were there one BioWare game with only homosexual options you might have a point. Since there isn't..

Heh, as if it wasn't obvious to everyone with knowledge of Bioware games that SuZe can't be bi. Every single time Bioware puts a bisexual female in their game, she's invariably the nicest lady in the party, neatly both subverting annoying stereotypes and not feeling too threatening to insecure fanboys.

Which is incidentally the only reason Tali might be a bi love-interest - she's currently the nicest companion in the game.

We know they nixed Ashley/femShep. Who knows what they've done this time. Modders will no doubt find out.

They cater to providing the story, and as I said you don;t have to do the same things all the time. I don;t know there is no real middle ground with you but I don;t think that every video game is a vehicle for social reformation.  Sometimes I just want to fly my ship, blast some jerks, and save the universe.

The fact remains that homosexuality is not perceived as normal, despite how hard people within the community wish it to be. I have no tolerance for homophobia, in fact, a lack of it is a main criterion for being anywhere within a hundred feet of my social circle.

The fact remains, ridiculous speculation about whatever nefarious motives Bioware had for not including F/F or M/M romances just makes you look like an idiotic, presumptuous, raving fool.

Now, having said that, I don't see why there weren't any included for those that wished to avail of the option (a la Dragon Age), but simply being a belligerent, raving, conspiracy theory touting (EA ARE THE SOURCE OF ALL EVIL DURR HURR DUMBED DOWN RPG ELEMENTS HOMOPHOBIA DURR) gets you nowhere.

What social reformation? Thinking that ME2 has to send a message is part of the problem.
Why can't homosexuality just be there? Don't make a big deal about it, it's just there. It worked in Dragon Age.

That about as true as the 'Alistiar was originally bi' rumor.

Personally, I'm looking forward to a love interest who's gay instead of bisexual.
