How do you know it was nixed, how do you know they just didn't plan for it?

We know they nixed Ashley/femShep. Who knows what they've done this time. Modders will no doubt find out.

Well good luck to you.  I say if this is such a huge issue then vote with your wallets and find a developer that will champion your position and create games with bisexual/homosexual leads and relationships.

Good luck getting funding for that at least for a AAA game.

I want to be progressive as well, I do know the limits of conventional wisdom though.

Conspiracy theories? I've presented none. I've said I feel that BioWare are moral cowards.

Instead of going forward with more varied romance options, such as a gay option for manShep, instead they regress because of Faux News media criticism.

I call that cowardice.

Were there one BioWare game with only homosexual options you might have a point. Since there isn't..

That's just it. Bioware is a business out to make money, not a vehicle for social revolution beholden to your fringe minority interests.

If SuZe had been a femshep romanceable, wouldn't people just complain that Bioware was stereotyping lesbians as violent, unstable, tattooed, bald women? Don't get me wrong, I'm all *swoon, take me now!* over SuZe, but she's titled as "Psychopath" in marketing, and I can see the LGBT community getting angry if she were bi or lesbian.

That about as true as the 'Alistiar was originally bi' rumor.

Personally, I'm looking forward to a love interest who's gay instead of bisexual.

Explain why there are Ashley-romance specific dialog files voiced by Jennifer Hale then.

What are the six options? I thought we had two per gender then a shared Samara.

I can't really see EA releasing a "bi pack" as DLC. It would be funny though. More seriously, it might help Bioware gauge the percentage of sales they gain solely by including same-sex relationships in games.

Hale and Meer both got a script full of the same dialogue lines to ensure all bases were covered.

Conventional wisdom saves us the pain of critical thought.

No, it's a fact. They've regressed. The precise reason is speculation, not a conspiracy theory.

I'll repeat it again. We do not know why F/F or M/M romances were not included in Mass Effect 2.

If you claim to know why you are either speculating or lying.

Thus, no concrete claims about why can be made.

Hence, if you claim to know why with anything approaching certainty you are either foolish, delusional or lying.

Bioware are not moral cowards, we know this from past experience.

What social reformation? Thinking that ME2 has to send a message is part of the problem.
Why can't homosexuality just be there? Don't make a big deal about it, it's just there. It worked in Dragon Age.

I don;t have a good response for this, my only retort is that sometimes you feel like making apple pie and other days you want to make a sweet potato pie.  As a creator you are never beholden to create the exact same thing every time.

Going back to the original intent of the post can you The Angry One support people that made false pretense in assuming someone was bisexual or homosexual based on appearance alone?  That question goes for anyone.  The whole crux of this post is that someone stereotyped her as something she is not and then gets mad about it.

Is that not insulting or am I out of touch?

Because every piece of FemShep and DudeShep dialog was voiced by Hale and Meer. Do you really think that all the love interests were meant to be bisexual at first and then they decided to make two of them straight?

Anyways, do you consider asari female and FemShep/asari parings f/f?

Believe it or not I've yet to see SuZe as I've kept away from preview vids, and I wasn't specifically talking about her anyway.

As for others, I assume it was due to feeling attracted to her whatever their gender for whatever reason.

Except we don't know that F/F isn't included. Samara is still be heavily pimped as a love interest even with Miranda, Suze, and Tali confirmed.

I am all for critical thinking but let's cut to the chase here they are in the business of telling a powerful story and making money. I know making money seems like a jerk thing but the money is not in sadly alternative lifestyles, at least not ones people find sensitive.

Well, if one listens to Casey Hudson as well as established lore, the Asari are Asexual, so it doesn't really count, but that's just arguing semantics at that point lol.

In that case why has nobody dug up manShep-Kaiden specific dialog. Don't say there isn't an interest in it..

Do you really think that all the love interests were meant to be bisexual at first and then they decided to make two of them straight?

Perhaps. It seems a little odd to me that they'd record *all* dialog and dump it in the game files.

Anyways, do you consider asari female and FemShep/asari parings f/f?

F/f, regardless of what the devs try to backpeddle now.
It's what started the whole "BioWare shows our children lesbian porn in it's depraved game!" thing.

I don't know many lesbians who'd consider sleeping with an asari heterosexual.

I was watching FOX News. Apparently, the SuZe Stock fiasco is Obama's fault, but that's okay because Sarah Palin will fix it when she's in office next term.

Also, minorities just finished taking the last of our jobs and have decided to start giving free lemonade to terrorists.

That's a pretty controversial split infinitive there.

Erm Tali? I hear Miranda/SuZe/Yeoman what'sherface for manShep, Jacob/Thane/SomeGuy for femShep. No Tali or Samara.

I will beleive it but you did not answer the question.

Do you think it is right to judge someone solely on looks alone with no understanding of their character or personality and make such singular determination on their sexual orientation by superficial features alone?  It may seem an odd question but what I am getting at here is that the original poster made assumptions and they didn't pan out but how then is this BioWare's fault?
