I wish Bioware would cut all romances, including the hetero ones.  Then you would see a 'bunch of loud mouth people' really complaining about what they think they are entitled to.  That would be a fun day on the forums.

The only thing that I ask is that the story be engaging and the game work properly. If it isn't, I stop buying BioWare stuff. Simple.

I think that would be good.  No romances and have them just focus on the story and the gameplay.

However, a lot of people would throw a hissy fit since they feel 'entitled' to them as they were in most of the past Bioware games and blah blah blah.

If BioWare said time spent on romances could be better spent on making the story more entertaining, they'd have my vote of 100% confidence. (They are, after all, masters of their trade.) I am purchasing their product to be entertained, not to romance a specific character of any sex, and my hopes for the game do not even slightly revolve around the romance options.

But I suppose you are right. People will inevitably complain simply to complain.

I don't think most people here give a crap if there is a gay option.

It seems some people do.   Or they wouldn't troll threads where people ask about it.

I think the Talimance is crap, but do you see me troll their threads when they demand it...no.  Why?  Becuase I have respect for their desires.  Why can't those that desire same sex romances be afforded the same respect from people around here?

They might care that a bunch of loud mouth people act like they are entitled to it, that they deserve it.  You or anyone only deserves two things from this or any game, and Jack left town.

I don't think I've seen a Tali thread where Bioware is being called bigoted and cowardly for not allowing it.  In the Tali threads you can effectively say tough ****.  When people say Bioware is a bigoted company for not allowing this, it effectively implies the poster who would say tough **** is being called bigoted as well.  So yeah, I suspect that will get peoples ire up.  The basic implication is if you are not all inclusive all the time you are bigoted, which puts people on the defenseive when they shouldn't be.

So basically, people like angry one bring all this **** on themselves in these threads by implicity attacking everyone.

I trust Bioware. I honestly don't care much for her, but the writers are the most proud of her above all the characters, she's going to be a good and deep character. The fact that there is such a polarization effect derived from judgement based on practically no facts (ie videos, articles) that give insight into the character, it doesn't matter too much what people are saying about the subject of character. I'm sure everyone will be surprised by playing the game.

Yeah, I'd be happy with that myself.  But I can see the dumbing down, its no longer a RPG posts already.

*sigh* You are required to state why they have to cater for every single romantic demand in every single one of their games, simply because you say they have to. You cannot simply say 'why not'. Burden of proof. Google is your friend.

I'm bisexual by the way, so it's not as if I'm a bigot who's trying to hurr durr keep the homos down. Please, don't be one of those frothing, militant people who give the rest of us a bad name by trying to shove LGBT values down everyone's throats.

Who the hell is shoving? Excuse me for expecting homosexuality and bisexuality to be treated as *gasp* normal.
This is 2010, not 1910.

Doesn't matter if it is 3010, Homosexuality will never be "normal".

It can be accepted and have full equal rights but it will never be the "norm", that would either mean a dying human race or test tube babies galore.

Someone needs a reality check, I know it is hip with all things gay right now, but no matter how much you cry, it is not normal.

This, except disagreeing with the 'not normal'- more like not being the mainstream expectation. It's normal, but most people expect people to be straight.

Being bisexual myself, I understand why EA would be pressured into following the mainstream and going for strictly heterosexual couples (the exception currently Liara, but she visually looks female). Would I like a non-heterosexual romance? Yes, but I'm not going to freak out and say "I'M SO INSULTED."

It's a game. I have my reallife partner, I don't need to get concerned over pixels.

The definition of what a society considers 'normal' changes with time.  How do you know homosexuality and bisexuality along with heterosexuality won't be considered normal someday?

It's not an either or.  It's not like if homosexuality were deemed 'normal', all of a sudden heterosexuality would have to be deemed 'abnormal' and people discouraged from engaging in it.     That's bollocks!!

I don't see why any form of human sexuality that takes place between consenting adults and doesn't harm anyone cannot be considered 'normal'.

Please tell this to Uganda. They were introducing a bill to ban homosexuality, including:

"The bill will call “aggravated homosexuality” or “aiding and abetting homosexuality” a capital crime, punishable by death.  Time
reports, if any “Ugandans were to sleep with someone of the same sex in
another country, the law would mandate their extradition to Uganda for
prosecution. Only terrorists and traitors are currently subject to
extraterritorial jurisdiction under Ugandan law. Even murderers don’t
face that kind of judicial reach.”"

Until, you know, the international community got pissed and told them off for being dumb.

I agree this thread has gotten hostile, but most threads asking for a same sex romance do not start out like that.  Some threads were started by forum goers who simply wanted to know if there were same-sex options or not.  Or, they want to know if a specific character is a same sex romance option.  Unfortunately, some people always end up trolling those threads and they devolve into chaos and name calling similar to this one.  That doesn't happen in those other threads.

While I agree with you, I think he was using the term normal as meaning mainstream or the majority. Homosexuals are what 10% of the population, by that definition of normal it is not normal.

Be that as it may, there is nothing to say isome time in a time period homosexulaity couldn't be above the 50% mark in human behavoir.  What people find attractive is largely determined by societal influences, so why not..

Of course, and if same-sex attraction wasn't so discouraged in our society and opposite-sex attraction so discouraged, who knows what the split between homosexual/bisexual/heterosexual would be.

Hells to the yeah.

Sadly I have a formula for entertainment, I expect roughly a $5 an hour entertainment value for it to be considered worthy of my purchase.  I've had the same formula since 1990(when i got my first job) I probably should adjust for inflation and my increased buying power but I still like it.

Different. Simple to figure out, complex to put a definitive numer to.

I agree someone should start a positive Subject Zero thread, if it's possible.  Most threads with her name in the title get ugly for some reason...

If I can think of a good topic of discussion for her I'll post it.  :D

Well, Mass Effect 2 (Says a Dev) took him 40 hours to complete versus 20 hours for Mass Effect 1.

So it should be worth a lot to you. B)

I've found video games to be one of the best bangs for my entertainment bucks, that and hookers.(couldn't resist after I said bangs)

I like that it took 40 hours as long as the fun isn't diulted.  ME1 was fairly awesome overall and the 20 hours or so of main story game play was even better.

Me too.  Her stock should soar a little bit because of them, right?  She's got like 20 bajillion of them.

Even better, she has tattooes of her tattooes.  I'm referrig to the faces on her arm.  On that one face, you can see her head tattoo....it's a tattoo of a tattoo (or a 'meta-tattoo').  How cool is that???

That is one thing I don't like.  I am not a tatoo fan for anyone.  It just makes her look Yakuza to me or at least movie Yakuza.  Though its not attractive to me, I like the Bald.  I hate long haired bad asses.  Seriosuly cut your damn hair its a laibility, ms perfect Miranda.

Yup, Bioware are complete moral cowards. They've never strayed beyond conventional realms of heterosexual intercourse in any of their games, nor have they ever included difficult ethical conundrums before.

Nope, none at all.

What's worse? To have never done it, or to have done it then backed off into a corner, scared and hoping the mainstream media will forgive your evil ways?

I guess you KNOW that's what they're doing. Of course you do, you probably have plenty of evidence and that's why you posted it. B)
