Well, they did release the ME soundtrack as a separate CD, so I hope they will do it for DA:O as well. I'd certainly buy it.AClockworkMelon wrote...
I don't think anyone can/will buy the soundtrack. But it comes for free in disk form with the CE of the game.

Popping the CD in your car on the commute home and pretending all other drivers are Darkspawn.

But again, I haven't played the game and it is a little too early to pass judgement. The Dragon Age Origins title song is kinda cool at the end, but I don't know if it is quite as awesome as hearing those drum beats from BG1 or the acoustic guitar in Diablo
I guess If I don't like it, hopefully I will be able to slip in my own mix

Will do hehe... I hope I'll be able to find/play all the music from the game through the actual game files since I won't be getting the soundtrack with the CE.lavosslayer wrote...
If you go to the Character Creator folder on your HDD and then the data ->launcher folder you can nab the Dragon Age: Origins Title Theme (the one that plays in the background of the launcher) for yourself to listen to in your media player of choice.
The score does sound very epic and that lady has an amazing voice.

What i've heard so far can rival the soundtrack of Icewind Dale, composed by Jeremy Soule.
The Kuldahar Theme is simply one of the best tracks ever made.

I completely agree with this. While it is a nice main theme (okay, I like it very much), the other tracks seem to lack...form. Just as with Hans Zimmer's Batman theme, which is not outright bad, but I wouldn't recognize it. I don't hear it and think "Batman!". All the games you mentioned had very fitting music, that tied in very well and gave the game a certain feeling. I would count Morrowind in to that as well, possibly even more than Oblivion.H8Cr1me wrote...
They sound good, but I am thinking that Michael Hoenig or Jeremy Soule should have done the music. Preferably the latter. I haven't played the game yet, but these tracks don't quite seem to have the same catchiness of a lot of the tunes from Baldur's Gate such as Aerie's theme. The Baldur's Gate 1 theme song was the BOMB and there was a continuity in some of the music that utilized those same notes. Jeremy Soule's tracks in Oblivion had a cohesiveness about them; where it seemed like all the songs just "fit." Matt Uelmen's continuity in the Diablo games, gave the game a flavor and were easily identifiable with that game. The same could be said about the music in Lord of the Rings.
But again, I haven't played the game and it is a little too early to pass judgement. The Dragon Age Origins title song is kinda cool at the end, but I don't know if it is quite as awesome as hearing those drum beats from BG1 or the acoustic guitar in Diablo

Lord of the Rings is in another league (imho), but that's not the point
Anyway, I'm not saying the DA:O soundtrack will be bad, I just don't think it can live up to the extremely high standards set by other RPGs. Alas, let's remain hopeful. At least the main theme rocks.
