So, as a natural nerd, I thought the BSN was the perfect place to start up a discussion on this: is there anyone here who's a fan of deck-building games, either of the collectible or non-collectible variety.
I've always been a fan of card games, but never got enjoyed the collectible aspect, as it's much more of a money sink than I'm willing to invest, specifically Magic: the Gathering and Yugioh.
On the other hand, I discovered Dominion about a year ago and since then, have expanded a bit on the deck-building craze. I've found that Dominion can be really fun without about 3+ players and a few expansions like Intrigue, but for 2 it feels rather flat and turns into a money contest.
I've also tried others like Ascension, which felt extremely bland, and Thunderstone Advance which brought a nice change of pace from Dominion.
More recently, I picked up a copy of Mage Wars, which feels like a much more flashy version of Chess and have been having a blast with that, even with the pregenerated decks.
So, I'm just curious, does anyone around here like deck-building games? Favorites? Least favorites? Positives, negatives, that sort of thing.

Different games all together.
Online recreates the old PC games. Tactics does the turn based thing recreating the BattleTech table top game.
You build your lance then go into a grid map. Move phase attack phase. Best to look at it for yourself. I am a Legendary founder so I get a lot to start with.
