Please don't make the game overly "pc".

And by "pc" I mean political correct. I want to see racism, sexism, homophobia (if that's the correct term) both from the NPC and even from the player character. I'd also like to see NPC react differently to whatever your sex is.

you will see what you said and it won't be politically correct.
Bioware can't afford pc if they want the DA franchise to survive.

They have racism and the population of Thedas isn't really sexist or homophobic. And I'm sure they'll have reaction to the Inquisitor's gender. They have for every other protagonist.

I'm talking about real reactions and the way you can solve a quest. To give you an example, if you played a woman with decent charisma in Fallout 2, you could sleep your way through a lot of quests, an option that wasn't available as a male. Or gain access to certain areas, that as a male you had to prove yourself to it, while playing as a woman, you could basically flirt your way to meet the boss. Something similar like that would be pretty cool.

As long as the men have equal opportunities in each regard. I'd rather not have every scenario where gender plays a role be" Female flirts, Male hits" to get through it.

That removes the unique feel to the game, if the NPC can be sexed up by both males and females.

No, I meant that in situation A, a female can use a special option and a male can't, but in situation B a male can use a special option and a female can't. Sorry, should have explained that better.

Something like in Witcher series would be nice, if it's measured. Rampant political correctness makes me sick.

Thread name is a blatant trolling though.

In DAO, the warden can choose to escape from their cell in Fort Drakon during the Captured! quest by seducing the guard into coming into the cell with them. While both male and female wardens can so this, a female does not need to pass as high of a coercion skill check.

So this stuff does already exist in the series, just not that obviously.

In the DA universe? I like the idea but homophobia? I didn't really see a lot of that in the past games but yes, we need the racism(not like what it is in RL), sexism like you mentioned with Fallout 2 (it's also in Fallout 3 and NV). Just make sure both sex's and all races have their benefits as well.

Thedas actually doesn't have much homophobia. That was a deliberate choice by the writers. But NPCs have shown racism and sexism (though much less sexism than in the Middle Ages of which Thedas is inspired - also a deliberate choice), which I'm fine with it as long as the narrative continues to not condone it.

Racism is pretty widespread in Thedas, as everyone is saying. Sexism in that only women can become chantry priests. I don't think there's a male counterpart. If I remember correctly, homosexual relationships are discouraged in certain groups because they don't produce children. Dwarves and Dalish elves discourage homosexual relationships for this reason. Human nobles may be able to carry on with a same-sex partner but would be expected to marry and produce children anyway.

I'm pretty sure DAI will be non-PC to at least some extent already and roleplaying may allow it to be even more so.

At least he knows that he's getting banned, as he should be. I would love to see someone like that say it to my face instead of behind the wall of anonymity that the internet provides. Internet tough guys.

Yes, I prefer less PC-ness as long as I have the ability to prove the NPC wrong (be selfless and heroic as an elf, a strong warrior as a woman, etc...) and having seduction only available to one gender or another in a case by case basis and not just women seduce everyone and men can't seduce anyone.

If any of this were true, I would have been able to tell Anders to **** off because I don't like ****s. Sadly not wanting to offend ****s and Muslims and all the other groups you only have to look at before they scream for the police, is what has caused this nightmare. EA is terrified of offending anybody. You see boys and girls, you cant have it both ways. You either get rid of political correctness or you don't. You cant say its ok in a video game but not ok in real life.

Personally I'd be chuffed if EA allowed us to tell the little fudge packers get lost. Sadly the reality is another outcome. How's you're political correctness stance feeling after reading this? I'll pick my verbal warning/ban up in the morning.

EDIT: they even filtered out the use of the F word? Your chances are zilch. How about queers can I use the word queers?

Ick.

While I actually do want DAI to feature gritty, mature themes that would, yes, feature characters and plots with unsavoury and despicable attitudes such as those mentioned in the OP, as well as realistic portrayals of adult relationships etc, I shudder at some of the comments in this thread. I want my inquisitor to fight against inequality, not to revel in the debasement of my fellow human beings.

I think I need a shower.

~sigh~ Thedas doesn't have sexism and homophobia though. Not on the kind of level we do. Racism it has in spadefuls.

There is plenty of prejudice in Thedas without needing to inject homophobia or sexism.

If you cannot handle mature themes you should not be playing games rated for mature audiences. Perhaps you should try out the new Mario Bros. game?

I don't really see a lot of maturity in calling people derogatory names.
