 Okay, i know this probably has came up plenty of times before, but i think DAO had some inspiration from LOTR.

Both Frodo and the main character lose their mentor (Gandalf/Duncan),

The whole battle of Osatagar feels like battle of the helms deep or battle of minas terith, if the aid had not come,


In both DAO and LOTR there's the monster army that characters must might,

Both storyline deals with different races uniting,

In LOTR there's Denethor and in DAO there's Loghain who refuses the hero.

Pretty much everything fantasy related takes heavy inspiration from lotr. I don't think this any more than most others though.

Black text on dark grey is also rather annoying to read.
