Who is excited for the next Mass Effect game and why?

Although i had some issues with the entire trilogy, I very much enjoyed the universe that was created by Bioware. I hope that they incorporate all the great things from all 3 games and combine it into one. The exploration of the first game (peoople and planets), the squad building of the second (but without having to do a loyalty mission in order to gain an ability. That was silly!), and the action of the third game.

What are you excited for?

I concur with that. I'd like to see those elements of the three games combined as well^^

I enjoyed the multiplayer and the campaign of ME3 a lot and the trilogy as a whole, particularly the story. I'm very curious as to when and where they are going to set ME Next or ME4, because I have no idea how they're going to top the first ME trilogy in terms of story, setting, scope...

The First Contact war and the dawn of humanity?
Small conflicts before humanity's arrival, enabling you to play as council races?
In another galaxy?
In the Prothean cycle?

Impress me Bioware^^

I'm waiting to see what the story is, and if it's a prequel or sequel, before I can even attempt to gauge excitement levels. Put simply . . .

I will be watching. I will be waiting. I will be judging.

As much as I would love it to be a sequel, I would be happy with a prequel set in the prothean time period, maybe even the first contact war (but not really). But if Bioware's history says anything, then I think that a game set exclusively during the prothean time period seems unlikely. My reasoning for that is that all Bioware games are human-centric. So I just can't see a game without humans.

Not sure what to think. In a way, I hope there are more/other RPGs around by the time of it's release. Then I won't have to think about it. I don't want to jump into Bioware games as quickly now, but it's always tempting when there's nothing else on the market.

I'm excited to see the universe expand. I would like I see more exploration thrown in ala-ME1 but that's just me. As long as there is a solid story, good squad mates, and great alien environments I'm sold on my favorite game series.

I don't really invest much time into games these days save for League of Legends, Mass Effect, and now Dragon Age (just beat the first one, starting second)... So since I don't drop $60+ on a regular basis for games these days, I have no issue getting excited for NME and will be buying it regardless because it's one of the few games I'm actually willing to fork dough over for and invest my time in playing.

I don't really get excited for games unless I'm playing them (like, I get excited while playing the game because some event is awesome).

Outside of Watch Dogs and FF XV.

How can you get excited about something that you know next to nothing about, not even the actual title?

I just hope it will be something completely different and explore one of the races the protheran empire would be a very good choice let us play as someone else than humans. I'm very excited myself too.

Excited?  As of now, there is precisely nothing over which to be excited.  Hope is what the gods inflict on humans just before they drive them to madness.

Besides, no matter what Bioware creates for the new franchise, BSN will hate it.

Even if it's the most revolutionary game ever created with mind-shattering ball-shrinking gameplay, Steve Blum as every character and turquoise asari ****** galore, with an ounce bottle of honest-to-ancestors quarian high fructose sweat in the CE to grab the Talihorde by the neck hairs and an inflatable Lawson doll, BSN will still hate-fvck it just out of toxic spite.

Thanks to EA, MEWhatever will be an eighty dollar mediocre shooter "reimagining" that's essentially a six-hour SP tutorial for the dull MP with a fifteen dollar downloadable ending like Dead Space 3.  I say this only so that in some way Bioware might prove me wrong.  That dull-edged rattling and bruis'd hope is the only thing that comes close to excitement for me.

That being said, the Frostbite engine will at least make it pretty.  When your expectations are low, pretty can hold your hand until the cynical headache passes.

Now that I think of it, I am pretty excited that I'll be saving ninety-five bucks, so that's something.

All works out in the end.

Simply put, if it's a prequel, then I have no desire to play it. If it's a sequel, then I would have certain requirements before I would be interested:

1.) The Destroy Ending (ideally the perfect one where you see Shepard take a breath) is THE canon ending. Any other would not allow for much in the way moving the franchise forward.

2.) The protagonist is human. This is for practicality of storylines as being able to choose your race may complicate the game story arc(s) beyond viability.

3.) You can loosely control how decisions made in the first trilogy will affect the next series. Obviously, we can't transfer save data this time, so as a compromise, I had this idea. Your character is taking the final exam for the System Alliance Academy. The topic is the Reaper War, and the questions allow you to tailor your experience to roughly approximate what you did in the original trilogy. For example, Did you save the Krogan and who was Clan Leader? Who was your lover and did they survive to the end? Did the Geth and Quarians make peace? Did the Batarians participate in the final battle? Did you save the Council? Was your character widely regarded as a Paragon or a Renegade?

Depending on your choices, some of these questions can open up side arcs or bonuses.

4.) Please take a page from Fallout and have the new game at least a full generation in the future, say 150 years at least.

Control would be just as valid for an ending.

The protagonist will most certainly be a human. But this doesn't exclude race selection. Especially since most Bioware PCs are already very bland and personality less.

I really don't see the need for more imports or bothering with past choices and they should instead just dictate a canon for the past trilogy. Why? They make sequels less interesting and more difficult to make. Want to use krogan or quarians in a bigger capacity? Well, you can't. Because it would go against the choices of other people. It just causes further stagnation and cuts off interesting story possibilities.

"Fool me once, shame on you" and all that

On a more positive note, the marketing for the game should be good for a laugh :D
