Happy Holidays to the Community!

Project Q v1.7 has been released. This will most likely be the FINAL update for Project Q. One person cannot effectively maintain, support, and promote a project of this scale. I just don't have the time and, quite simply, I have other things I want to do. On behalf of the Q Team, past and present, thank-you for your support these past few years and may the dice always roll high for you.

As soon as Rolo attachs the file, I'll post a link here.

Final one, eh? Sad... but understandable. Will you still be doing bug testing and support for the time being. I still use Q as the base of my server.

I'll support what I can - I use it myself after all, but any such support will be confined to vacations and off-semester months or whenever else I can find the time. This said, I'm confident there are no blatant bugs in the current release that would render anything unusable.

As for future new content releases through the Project Q name - don't count on it. Future patches - when they do come - will be confined to bugfixes.

No - he's not abandoned. He is a major PITA. The amount of work to animate this particular creature is...immense. I should just upload him so other members of the Community can get a crack at finishing him...

Yeah, why not! He's now on the Q main download page. If anyone finishes the animations on this guy let me know - PLEASE!!

Thanks for all your hard work, cramming things into a big box for us... We're all now going to ruin it all by taking the stuff back OUT of said box and playing with it.

Swank. Poor Formori though. My elves need an enemy so he's going to get turned into several varieties

Gotta ask, if it is going to be the potentially last did we ever get a hold of Merricksdad and his awesome looking hobgoblins? They were always that one thing I ended up requesting since forever

And as it is my nature, a completely missplaced error report. A lot of the DG Mounts don't seem to be working in the test module. The three Deer, the Elephant, the Fox, the Gecko, all four goats, the second Gryphon, the first Horse and Cart, Jaguar, Leopard, Lion Male and Female, Panther, Black Rhino and Wolf all don't work

Thank you for the release Pstemarie, it is appreciated.

I have to ask though - what happened to the team? Is/was there a recruitment drive? I try to swing by the Q forums, but I didn't see anything about the Q team riding off into the sunset. Is there 'help wanted' to keep this project alive?

The DG mounts have mixed up names; the model names in the 2da dont correspond to the names of the associated files. The extra textures for variant creatures are also there, but don't have their own model.

seems the mounts dont have movement animations as creatures, either. Each model takes a very long time to load in the toolset, also.

Mounts have been fixed - I should have checked Draygoth's 2da lines more closely. The missing model for the black rhino has been added. As for models for other variants - those won't be included at this time. Please remand all such requests to Draygoth.

I just included them as Draygoth designed them - they are intended as mounts, not replacement creatures for other existing models. As for the load time - the models are very high polycount. I wouldn't recommend using many of them in the same area. Perhaps Draygoth will revisit them in the future and reduce the polycount, but I can't speak for him.

For all future bug reports, please post them on the Support thread at the Project Q forums. This thread is an announcement thread - not a support thread.

Cheers

Well, we had some members join, post a few wips then apparently move on to other things. In early September I posted notice to the team that I was stepping down as Project Lead. The only response was from _Six in November - and he isn't even an active member anymore! By mid-December it was pretty clear to me that Project Q had no active members left.

No active members = no active project. Thus, its time for Project Q to be laid down until someone comes and resurrects it. Unlike Barry - bless him, who is apparently the last remaining member of the CEP Team, I can see when its time to move on...

AND, if the CEP Team is still alive, I apologize for the premature eulogy.

Thx a bunch for this release. I've followed Q from day one and remember well how close it was to folding even at the start when Rosencrantz quit. Amazing we've yet another update after all these years.

I'm sorry for the issues with getting help for Q. I'm saddened that a lot of the great contributors to the community have quit or moved on, including you. If you're still looking for help, I would like to throw my hat in the ring. I don't know if you still have the energy to continue or not. I am hopeful that other members that regularly contribute (in the monthly contests or otherwise) might step up as well.

It could become something like the CCC. Different creators join every now and then following some guidelines, slowly engrossing Project Q. It could even be a more structured base to build custom content on.

Truly thank you for all your dedication and hard work.
The Q has always been inspirational

<I was just thinking of re-jigging my mods with Q as the base forever more>

Bless you
and Merry Christmas....
