You know what. You're right. The books by Drew K and the comic do a good job with Leng. And leng is an N7 marine. Shep is an N7 marine. Leng is a bit of a fuctioning sociopath. Renegade Shepard is a bit of a functioning sociopath rouge. So.... Match made in heaven.

Gotta love how over the top fighting games are. *sigh* Good times.

This follows a long line of games just making crazy stuff up about how the body works.  Stuff that defies high school biology.

My favorite was always watching how, in countless games, some enemy would get its entire head blow off, and you'd still hear them screaming.

I'd like to know exactly what were they screaming through?  How about why would they scream when their brain was totally vanished?

Because Bioware made it so that if Miranda was a love interest at any point, but the relationship is broken off, she'll end up being killed by Kai Leng. Having character survivability be linked to their love life is a bit silly, but it is what it is. My Shep romanced Liara in ME1, Miranda in ME2, went back to Liara in LotSB (played after the ME2 Suicide mission), and Liara again in ME3.

There is an exploit of sorts where you can avoid Miranda dying, but ironically it involves Shepard not being honest. Instead of having Shepard being up front and making it clear he isn't interested in picking up where he and Miranda left off, Shepard has to string her along while simultaneously wooing whoever the other romance option is. Then once you get the conversation that locks in the other option, the game acts as if Miranda was never romanced and she can survive the Kai Leng encounter.

I decided not to go back and go that route because I generally don't like exploits, and also stringing Miranda along would have been out of character for him. I also like to roll with negative consequences to decisions in RPGs, unless its a complete and total epic fail. (like Refuse, which I ended up with the first time playing the Extended Cut)

I also kind of liked that Shepard had some extra incentive to skewer Kai Leng.

Accidentally stabbed by his own sword whilst trying to take out Thane. I didn't like Thane much but it'd be ironic, at least.

Or a direct blast from a Reaper Destroyer.

If I could choose Kai Lame's fate?

I'd choose to have Thane shoot him from afar instead of unfolding his gun right next to the Capcom Villain Reject's head, giving him time to react.

That means that all subsequent instances of cutscene incompetence pertaining to him would never happen.

Shepard wouldn't have gone stupid and opened the C-SEC squad car instead of slamming the brakes or putting the car into a spin, letting inertia or centrifugal force deal with him.

The whole "Heads I Win Tails You Lose" debacle would never have happened on Thessia.

And then Shepard wouldn't have gone dumb again and neglected to double-tap him on the floor with the Cutscene Pistol in Timmy's room.

Have I mentioned I cannot stand Kai Lame?

To answer within the constrains the OPer made, I would like to have double-tapped him (or shotgun-tapped him) and then completely forget about him.  Give him the ultiamte krogan insult after he's dead.  Not just in-game, but on the metaphysical level: He is a badly designed character all around and deserves to be forgotten.

One thing that would have made Kai Leng cooler/less lame would be if he addressed TIM as "My Master" instead of "Sir".

How about marooning KL where Jacob found his father?

And some armed satelite defence with warnings for anyone that gets into range, and a tracker on KL to ensure you know where he is.

And ofcourse, you won't leave him any supplies or people or anything.

Since that place isn't healthy for anyone noone shoudl go looking, you could even use your spectre power to delete the place from all starmaps except for the council aarchives.
The council probably won't bother with that area of the galaxy for a few hundred years.
