a) demanding it because they just need to play a slave owning character 

dismissing others' concerns about the implications of this feature on the grounds that it's just a game

Let every person decide for themselves whether owning female slaves is gross or not, and whether slavery looks like something positive or negative. k? 

there is a massive difference between master&slave roleplaying irl and literal slavery if that's what you're talking about. this may be a game but in context (as opposed to in a meta sense) the slavery is real. if you equate the two then you need to seriously rethink that.

Is it your decision whether or not to work for someone else, barring market conditions and two-weeks notice? Could you just quit and live off something else if you were able to find this something else? If so, that's not slavery.

I liked how you could do something to that effect in DIshonored instead of just killing your target.

I either work or I starve. I can live off anything I want, as long as I pay up to the owner, and as long as my something doesn't conflict with the owners wishes. Also my owner can destroy me at any given time at a whim.
