I agree with Kislitsin, loadout is the best indicator i think. On topic i'd say CP. At least you have to try different things.

You make it sound as if I have to perform some special task or something. We play the game in exactly the same way. The only difference is that my rank is always rising in the background. I don't have to do anything extra, I just play the game normally and let my characters take full advantage of all that lovely XP, whereas most others don't benefit from that XP.

You've also played this game far longer than I have...yet I am the one who is obsessed...this strikes me as odd.

Also, I used to be high up there on the leaderboards too when the game was about 6 months old and stuff. Not that I cared, it just happened because I play a lot and used to promote all the time.
My CP's are also relatively high at this point I wanna say. Not because I care, but because I still play the game a lot.
None of that means that I'm a good player though. Which is the difference.

Well N7HQ doesn't count time spent in the store. So lakook probably has double his time actually playing.

Between the two, obviously CP. It's a good indicator of how long they've actually played the game, and not to mention that they're going to be a bit more experienced with different kinds of kits/loadouts to earn those points. But as said before, a person's loadout is the best indicator of competency.

I say, neither matters. When I join a PUG I look at a combination of all things… N7 rank, Challenge Points and the gear and equipment that the person is using. Usually I will only leave if the enemy type and map are set (I prefer variety). If the PUG's ready up within a few seconds of me joining then that is the only other indication of PUG's who haven't played the game that long… then I GTFO.
N7 rank, challenge points mean nothing.

Controller numbers are the most accurate measure of skill. I've run through 5 controllers, two disks, two harddrives, around 3 real mics on this damn game, and two smoke detectors. (I of course do not count the bastardized mic that I assembled myself for those lucky enough to play with me during that time.)
