Laugh all you want. I did a gold solo with a volus adept on first atempt and I failed three times with the asari.

That's not her fault. 

Pretty much. It sounds like a personal problem.

On topic, I would've said the Volus, but I've seen Hoochie play him. Absolutely beastly.

I think thats more to do with Hoochie being a beast;) its not a bad kit, just the worst in it's category

Yeah, Volus. It's funny how the shield boost is actually a hindrance. Stasis - Biotic Orbs are just not strong enough when creating Biotic explosions.

Squishy? Totally. Bad power output? Not at all.

Vanilla Asari Adept is the perfect example of a Glass Canon. 

Just started playing her again last night. In the past she was my favorite kit but I just kinda moved on to other ones. Absolutely love the M-77Paladin with her because it is great for headshots and packs a good punch. I go with a 6/6/6/5/3 build and use an Adrenaline Module. Works great on Gold.

Generally all adapts are good mind you I don't even play with adepts too much but I can't really say anyone of them are flat out bad. Now that some adepts are better than others VERY different story.
