I just completed Dragon Age II. There were so much negative reactions about DAII. But i really enjoyed the game. And the most important thing in the game were my teammates. I bonded with them just like i did with Mass Effect. Dangit! I can't wait for DA Inquisition! This may sound nerdy. But i miss my teammates

There are item packs 1 and 2, Black Emporium and Dog, The Exiled Prince, Legacy and Mark of the Assassin. I found all of them to add enjoyment to my game. I thought Legacy in particular was fantastic. Both Legacy and MotA had some well-lit, pretty scenes too. While a certain amount of cave/dungeon crawling was present it seemed like less of a grind than in the vanilla game.

Though you better prepare yourself for the most outragiously bad AI pathfinding in the Legacy bossfight.
You'll have to micromanage your companions to the point of practically playing them yourself 99% of the time.

Legacy and Mark of the Assassin can be played at any time during or after DA2, but The Black Emporium, The Exiled Prince and the Item Packs are only useful during an actual game.
Legacy is generally regarded as the best, partly because it's a fun dungeon crawl and partly because it sheds some major insight into the Hawke family and the darkspawn. The biggest drawback of the DLC, as Neofelis mentioned, is that the end boss fight requires a lot of micromanagement to get through due to pathing issues.
MotA is more comedic and lighter in tone, though it's a bit divisive because of the DLC-only party member you get with it.
The quality of The Exiled Prince depends entirely on whether or not you like Sebastian, the party member that comes with it. All these DLCs have good loot.
I would either consider the story DLCs or the item packs for a second playthrough, but not both. That's kind of equipment overkill.

Did not like DA2s loot at all.
Of course the controversial Felicia Day is in Mark.
Corypheus is in Legacy.
Exiled Prince would have been better if we had went to Starkhaven.

Hoo, boy. Legacy and Mark of the Assassin are great! DA2 used to be my favourite game until my most recent playthrough - I think I wore it out too quickly, seeing how I already finished it a fifth-or-so time mere months before then. That said, I still regard those two DLC segments to be some of the most fun I've had in gaming. The boss battle in MotA is absolutely phenomenal!

The story DLC's (Legacy and Mark of the Assassin - I'm not counting The Exiled Prince here as it was day-one release) were pretty obviously meant to tackle some of complaints levelled at the main game - specifically the recycled environments, enemies spawning from the sky and ways of addressing problems other than hitting everyone with a sword. And all-in-all, they did a reasonably good job of it. The fans seemed to rate the DLCs better than the game.
Oddly, the big magazine/online game reviewers generally gave them a low-middling mark. Perhaps to counteract the impression that they had overrated the vanilla game...?

I to enjoyed DA2.
The dlc's I liked and found them to be better than the game itself.
The mage pack(1 & 2). the warrior pack(1 & 2), the rogue pack(1 & 2) were cool each adding different weapons and armor.

It's been ages since I played the game but for the dlc's I found Legacy miles better than MotA. As Ferretinabun said they tried to address some feedback about the main game in the dlc.
For Legacy this meant more interesting combat. MotA I didn't like and if I could go back I wouldn't have bothered buying it. I didn't like the dlc party member you got stuck with and I found the whole thing was too much talking and not enough combat.
The item packs have very nice goodies that make a lot of the vanilla loot pointless. Some of the items are very ugly though. There was a mage staff in the second pack I think that had you toting around mummified puppies but you can just reskin items in gibbed if you're on pc or xbox.
The Black Emporium gives you access to makers sigh potions so you can respec any characters and some very pricey but awesome items including the Robes of Unblemished Cleanliness for mages which are awesome.
Sebastian was pretty good to use as a change from Varric sometimes. It was also fun to keep him around to stir him up. If you're pro mage he's also kind of fun to hate, added a interesting perspective on things.

It wasn't a bad game, it was a bad dragon age game. That's the thing bioware fails to comprehend. A single game can be anything. The first game in a series can be anything. But a sequel cannot be just anything, it has to improve on the previous game, and accelerate the story. DAII fell so far short of origins that it's not worthy of the title "dragon age." It's a fine game if you take it seprately from origins, though.
Mass effect, too, would be fine without the first game. It retcons too much, falls too far short, and generally flops in the second and third iterations. ME2 and 3 would be fine on their own, though.
