My question involves how a research project increasing biotic damage and force or omni-tool tech damage is increased when doing a research project for them in Mass Effect 2.
For example, if I had Energy Drain Rank 4 (200 Damage) and I had research project Tech Damage 5/5 (Increase Tech Damage by 50%), would it add 60 to it (from 50% of the first rank) or would it add 100 damage?
Same thing with a power like Shockwave. Would the force of a Heavy Biotic Shockwave (Rank 4: 700 Newtons) influenced by Biotic Damage 5/5 (Increase Biotic damage and force by 50%) be increased by 350, or would it be increased by only 150 (from Rank 1: 300 Newtons)?
What about Heavy Singularity (45 Seconds) in correlation to Biotic Duration (Increases Biotic Duration by 20%)? Would Singularity only increase by 4 seconds from the first rank (20 Seconds) increased by 20%, or would the increase of 20% come from the Heavy Singularity for 9 seconds added to total duration?
Please help, this has been bugging me ever since my first playthrough of ME2 as an Adept! Thanks for your help!!

I have always assumed it is a straight increase of whatever damage level the power currently does, not base damage.
Weapon upgrades and ammo powers work off of base damage, but I don't think tech and biotic upgrades work that way.
