My Wardens/Hawkes are a mix of snark and goody two shoes. Moreso my Hawkes.

I try to play an "evil" character, and I can't. With the buildup to inquisition, I'll definitely try to make a blood mage

Very. I'm making it a point to make them as distinct from eachother as possible. No idea how this Inquisitor plan will actually play out but I used to fill out those character bios back in the day - all for fun,

Warden - Female Dalish Elf. Cold and reserved, with a bitter attitude towards humans, but in the end a kindhearted person with a legitimate concern for the well being of others; her cold attitude was mostly due to being completely unfamiliar with the world she was forced into. Extremely pro-elven, to the point of even snapping at Leliana (who she ended up romancing) about her oblivious attitude towards her kin. However, she wasn't a zealot - was able to see the other side of the argument as well, and more than once pointed out the flaws in her own people's attitudes and goals. However, took offenses to her people very seriously - killed Loghain for selling city elves to Tevinter. In the end however, a good leader with a knack for motivating people, and mature beyond her years. A true Neutral Good.

Hawke - Have more trouble filling him out, just a male mage who was a sarcastic jackass. True Neutral.

Planned Inquisitor - Female Elven Warrior. Opposite side of the same coin as my Warden; whereas she tried to prove humans wrong about her people, Inquisitor shall be beyond caring about that. Shall completely conform to the savage image - using her Inquisitor status for her own ends and making sure she spills as much shemlen blood as she can, burning villages like Crestwood out of sheer spite. Will be nicer around elves, but still blunt, jaded and still with complete Chaotic Evil intentions. Pretty much a terrorist who's lost sight of whatever she was trying to achieve but still does it because she'd a psychopath. Odd choice for an Inquisitor, will be fun to see how this actually works.

Very different, mostly because so much of Hawke is predefined and outside player control.

I've had so many Wardens and Hawkes that I'm just going to say their most common attributes.

My wardens just simply did whatever was needed to be more prepared for the blight, or satisfy their sexual desires. After the blight they all became rather cynical

My Hawkes were just good people that always tried to help anyone that needed it and throw in a good joke or two from time to time to lighten the atmosphere.

I see my Inquisitor being a straight up ass to any and all mages and humans.

Well my canon Warden is a Dwarf Noble warrior, my Canon Hawke is human mage and my planned Inquisitor is a Qunari rogue Archer so quite different I guess lol.
All my canon characters I try to play as ambitious magnificent bastards. But my Warden is Diplomatic, My Hawke is aggressive no bs and to the point and my Inquisitor will probably be a snarky sarcastic type.

Warden - Danielle Mahariel Rogue - Bard/Ranger Neutral Good
Hawke - Marian Warrior - Templar/Beserker Chaotic Good

The difference is that Marian is a more forgiving person who tolerates the fact her Apostate boyfriend is also a terrorist. Danielle was more "What's right is important than what I want" while Hawke was "I know I should kill him for what he did to the Chantry....but I love him! I vowed to stay by his side and I'm not breaking it.".

The inquisitor will either be a Dwarf, a Qunari, or a Male Human. I'm going to make all three true neutral, all "Duty before love", and side more towards the mages (but mostly being uninvolved in the situation).

EDIT:

Then there's my queen of Ferelden -
Acts towards Alistair the same way Morrigan does, just less spiteful towards him and his stupidity (she doesn't think he's as stupid as Morrigan like to say).
She's practical, bossy, and knows she where the pants in the relationship. She knows how to manipulate her way through politics. In fact, her inital interest in Alistair stemmed from the fact he was a royal bastard ans she could use this to make the Howe family suffer. However, she's truly not selfish and she did truly love Alistair.  She was willing to allow Anora to marry him if it could overthrow Loghain and she persuaded Alistair to sleep with Morrigan to save HIS life.
In a nutshell: Bossy, Practical, Vengeful, Dominant, Snarky, Elegant yet Tomboyish. As for alignment, she is also a Neutral Good Warden, but for a different reason. Mahariel's good because she wants to make the world a better place, while Cousland is only concerned with the blight because it's her father's dying wish: to do the right thing. She never got over her thrist for Howe blood, it's was merely subdued. When the opportunity presented itself, the berserker in her, was let loose.
Outfit: Varathorn's Armot, Silverite Juggarnaut boots, Branka's Shield, and Maric's Blade.
She was initally just a pretty little tomboy who was spoiled by her parents, in other words, a freeloader who wanted to live in fantasy like Calin did. Then, she lost everything and became hateful and snarky.  However, after Ostogar resorted to Alistair to act like a lost puppy, she stopped being hateful and decided to help him.
Beginning: A beautiful tomboyish feminist who wanted to make a name for youself, no longer content being a freeloader.
Middle: A Neutal Good Warden who has accepted her fate, but not that her former life is gone. She decided to put vengence aside to fulfil her father's dying wish: Fulfil your duties to Ferelden like we Couslands always have.
Became a very persuasive person amongst politicians and popular figures.
End: The Avenger has been avenged, and it tastes SO sweet. Now Queen of Ferelden and Hero Of Ferelden, she banishes the Howe family out of their Arling. The irony hits her: She tried hard to not become her mother, and yet she's become a splitting image.

I don't have canon characters; but rather ones I like more than others.

"Burn the witch, kill the mutant, cleanse the unclean" playthrough;
-Dwarf Noble Warrior, purged the circle, killed the elves, pretty much a ruthless, cautious and pragmatic tactician. Burned Amaranthine and killed the Architect as well.

-Pro-Templar Rogue Hawke, Archer, only "religious" toon in all my playthroughs. Annulled the Kirkwall Circle, made Bethany a Grey Warden, ruled as Viscount.

-For this playthrough, I plan on making another ruthless Dwarf. Haven't decided on class.

"To hell with slavery" playthrough,
-Dalish Archer, helped the circle, helped the Dalish. Whenever "slavery" was involved, I tried my best to act against it and damn the potential consequences. This also led to the sparing of Architect, I destroyed Amaranthine however.

-Pro-Mage Hawke, dabbled in Blood Magic and fascinated with Demons. Made Carver a Grey Warden, fought against Templars in every chance.

-For this playthrough, I plan on making an Elven or Qunari Mage.

"I've had enough with the radicals, let's be intelligent for a change" playthrough.

-Warrior Human Noble, became the King-consort of Ferelden and started the Cousland line of Kings, Alistair stayed with the Wardens though. Helped the Dalish and helped the circle, saved both the Vigil and Amaranthine, slayed the Architect.

-Warrior Hawke, made Bethany a Grey Warden, sided with the Mages though tried to stay neutral.

-For this playthrough, I will be making a Qunari Warrior and will try to keep the same mentality.

Adrian Cousland warrior, he was trained in combat and diplomacy with the best training and education the money could buy. With his family being very well intentioned, he lacked the snobbish attitude most nobles had. He also knew better then to judge someone by their race, appearance or background. He grew up hearing legends about the Grey wardens from his friends and family, but never truly knew anything about them. And while he didn't felt like becoming an Grey warden in order to go after Howe, he accepted Bryce request to join them to fight for Ferelden. Had an ratter poor impression of Cailan due to his silly attitude considering he is supposed to be an king, but was quite impressed with Loghain considering that he at least took his job very seriously. Adrian was appaled by the joining ritual, not only for witnessing Jory being murdered in an brutal fashion, but also for being forced to corrupt himself in such a way. From that moment foward, he became very bitter towards Duncan and the Grey wardens in general, as because of them, he would never be whole again. He recruited everyone he could for his cause to save Ferelden, and during the Landsmeet, he decided to recruit Loghain as punishiment for his crimes, but ended up becoming found of him, surprising as it might be. Accepted Morrigan ritual, not only because he was in an romance with her, but also because he was not willing to sacrifice himself for an group he has zero respect for. And thus each companion took their way as Adrian was hailed an hero.

Garret Hawke is an quick witted rogue that was aways very protective of his family, especialy Bethany, and thus, was very unfriendly toward the Templars. While a bit silly and annoying at times, he had his heart in the right place by the end of the day, and aways helped his friends when he needed to. Once he returned from the deep roads, Hawke hate for the Templars only grew as they took Bethany away from him, and things got worse as he was forced to help with the Qunari tensions, something he found too troublesome to get involved. Respected the Arishok for his philosophy, but strongly disagreed with the way he enforced his laws. Dueled the Arishok in single combat, as he was not willing to give anything or anyone to them. By the end game, he sided against the Templars to save Bethany and the other mages, with the entire crew at his side (except Sebastian).

Both my main warden and Hawke were red-headed female rogues but my Warden had many personality traits not shared by Hawke.
A love of all things Elven, an obsession in Elven culture and a belief in the "brotherhood/sisterhood" of Elves.
A quick temper (and a bit of bloodthirsty streak), at least when she saw her fellow elves mistreated.

Whenever I can, I try to be righteous, charming goodie with a tendency to be a little chaotic and malicious. And sometimes short-tempered.

And joke about anything I can.

My Warden was confident, strong, a little prideful, realistic, and was a good leader.
My Hawke was sarcastic, but only uses humor to detract the seriousness of situations.
My Inquisitor will be kind, fair, and hopeful. The Inquisitor will really try to do the right thing.

My canon Warden is a male Aeducan sword and shield warrior. He's typical lawful good and selfless. He was smart (high cunning), devout in his belief in ancestor worship, and romanced Zevran.

My canon Hawke is a male mage. He's more chaotic good. He's a sarcastic smarta** and started very much in a mercenary mindframe, but eventually became more selfless as the story progressed. He was an athiest and romanced Anders.

I'm not sure about the Inquisitor. I'm expecting three playthroughs to start: male dwarf, female dwarf, male qunari. I might also do a female qunari. Not sure how I'll play them out or what class they will be yet.

They have the same basic bent- helping people, generally being a big damn hero -but in my head they get there in very different ways. My canon City Elf from DA:O actually loved fighting and killing things, and had to exert effort not to just use violence to solve her problems, where as canon Hawke came a lot more naturally to diplomacy and making friends. I haven't decided the personality for my Inquisitor yet, I find my headcannon evolves naturally from the decisions I make in gameplay.

My canon Malakir Mahariel warden simply did what had to be done.  His class and specialty was that of a dual wielding rogue.  He was always proud of his elven heritage, however, he was more tolerant towards shemlen than most of his brethren were.  Was sympathetic towards the city elves.  He eagerly agreed to go through with the Joining, when Duncan told him of his illness after the whole mirror incident.  Hoping to show the world that the Dalish were better than what people said they were.  A bit serious but with some sarcasm, he won the trust of others, valuing good connections over being ruthless.  He weighed all options before coming up with his plans or choices.  Sort of a good-natured, yet calculating fellow.  A bit of headcanon for him was that with his newly gained position, he urged his fellow Dalish elves to ban together with the City elves, he always thought that the Dalish elves could learn a thing or two from the City elves about the Shemlen.  In the hopes for finding a peaceful co-existence between elves and shem or atleast the ability to have some sort of reasonable dialogue .

-Romanced Morrigan and went through with the Dark Ritual.
-Destroyed the Anvil and placed Bhelen on the throne.
-Persuaded Zathrian to release the curse on the Werewolves.
-Cured Aemon of his illness, without killing his son or Anora(though he was mighty tempted to do so.)  Also, slayed the cultists on the mountain.
-Saved the Magi tower without killing the mages.
-Heavily fortified Vigil's Keep which helped it last through the darkspawn seige, along with saving the city of Amaranthine.
-Let the Architect live, slaying The Mother.
-Went through the Mirror with Morrigan, at the end of Witch Hunt DLC.

My canon mHawke(I forget his first name at the moment:pinched:) warrior was very sarcastic and arrogant.  He didn't think most of his choices through.  He supported the Qunari but didn't regard their Qun with anything but contempt in kind to the way the Qunari viewed Kirkwall.  Killed the Arishok over Isabela but gave them their book back.  Romanced Fenris.  He made friends with all of his companions.

Supported the Templars but he spared innocent mages when need be.  Sympathetic towards elves(his favourite was Serendipity after Fenris, of course:).)  Let Anders go, making Sebastian an enemy.  After defeating Meredith, he seemed to have wised up a bit.  My headcanon for him was that he stepped aside to let the Nobles choose their new Viscount from their ranks.  Even though the peasants seemed to want him to be the Viscount(along with many of the Nobles) he supported whomever they chose from the Nobility saying that he thought being Champion was good enough for him.  Serving both the newly elected Viscount and as a protectorate of Kirkwall along with the Captain of the guard Aveline .  Spending his freetime with Fenris after all his other friends dispersed.  Still stayed in contact with Isabela via letters.  After a few years, however, he and Fenris vanished.

As for my Inquisitor.  I was thinking before that I was going to make an elf but I decided to choose my Inquisitor when I get the game.  Play around with the Character creator a bit and see what I like the best.  The best kind of prize is a surprise and all that...

To an outsider, my Dalish Elven Rogue Warden was probably a study in contradictions.
- Fiercely protective of all elves and would tolerate no slight against them from the shems, but would go out of the way to help downtrodden humans and virtually anyone in need.
- Was curious about the Chantry religion but would shield other races from it.
- Helped uphold the law in one hand and, well, completely flout it with the other.
- Fiercely loyal to friends and allies, except when it became pragmatic not to be...
- Above all, for good or for the occasional lapses of not-so-good... the Warden defined success. Succeeds in what others deem impossible. Succeeds where others won't even try.

Hawke would best be described as a well-intentioned meddler who persevered through as much failure as success.
- Hawke started off a more kind-hearted person, resolving disputes with diplomacy, but eventually grew disillusioned. It wasn't long before Hawke became a sarcastic, albeit still well-meaning rogue who was in it as much for the glory as the city.
- While certainly not afraid to dirty up those hands as a smuggler, Hawke tried to bring some semblance of order to the city, wiping out all the gangs that sprouted up over the years.
- Weakly Pro-Mage, but constantly frustrated by the intractable attitudes of both sides.
- Helped fellow Fereldens whenever possible, was less than pleased when the Bone Pit miners were wiped out.
- In many ways respected the Arishock, and earned his respect, but in the end what the Qun demands cannot be met.

Looking forward to playing another Dalish Elf for my first playthough as the Inquisitor. Probably going to be a lot like the Warden (if possible) albeit likely even more pro-Dalish if it allows.

I have many different Hawkes and Wardens just for this scenario alone.

This in a nutshell. I've got multiple playthroughs of both DA:O and DA2, and I'll do multiple playthroughs of DA:I. I don't consider any of them to be canon, and none of them are based on me, that's not how I roleplay.

I think I'm going to make all of my characters alike... My main canon one is a goody-two-shoes runthrough with rogues.

Started with a Dalish and was dissappointed I couldn't be an elf anymore in DA2... Still doubting whether or not I should switch to a more aggressive Qunari warrior or if I'll just do 2 playthroughs with the same save import.

My Warden was the strong, silent type that was very kind, although had zero tolerance for idiocy and ignorance.
My Hawke was much more sarcastic, flirtatious, and open than my Warden was, although they both don't tolerate idiots or ignorance. My Hawke also had a very strong moral center and very strong views on what is right and wrong.
I suspect that my Inquisitor will fall somewhere in between the two.

I have seven Wardens and Hawkes, but no real canon PT. If I had to choose one as an example, I'd pick my very first Warden and Hawke.

Kylan Amell is drawn to power. She is one of those mages that templars watch out for because she is willing to do whatever to gain more influence and expand her aptitude. When Jowan first revealed himself to be a Blood Mage, Kylan was not angry at him for turning to the forbidden school - she was angry because he knew a school of magic she did not.

She is very two-faced. One moment she is your best friend, the next she abandons you when she gets what she wants. Take Cullen for example: he has a crush on the mage Warden. Kylan took advantage of his feelings often. What she couldn't normally get away with, she would squeak by with him. False flattery, manipulation, and backstabbing are Kylan's tools.

Victim -> Image IPB <- Kylan

Finola Hawke is very different, but has her moments. She is friendly and sarcastic, often bordering on obnoxious in serious situations. It is her defense mechanism, however; Fin can get scared, and uses humor to draw attention from the tremors in her hands.

She enjoys tricking people out of more money than they originally offered, which has gotten her into some serious trouble. Fin is also a bit spoiled since she knows her friends would lay down their lives to protect her - she is a mage after all, and uses magic in public often. Varric bribes, Isabela steals the warrants, and Aveline knocks heads together. It is a well-oiled system, one Finola takes advantage of. But that doesn't mean she doesn't love her friends; she would do anything for them. She just doesn't know when to shut up and walk away. Incidentally, this made her into the Champion of Kirkwall and gave her responsibilities a free spirit would despise.

My Hawke was extremely EXTREMELY sarcastic... think the way RDJ played Tony Stark in the first two Iron Man movies type sarcastic. My Warden though was pretty straight forward and straight laced guy.

At least, that's the way my two personal "canon" playthroughs were. I do have a complete jerkface Hawke, a Warden that was basically a two timing thief, and then a Hawke and Warden that were about as brutal as you could be.

Funny we're using designations from Baldur's Gate.

You mean Dungeons and Dragons.

As for mine, so far FemCousland was pretty laid back for a noble....
and FemMage Hawke was kinda like a RenegadeShep... Mean, but ulitmately there hearts in the right place. If you want alignments then Warden was probably CN (Chaotic Neutral) and Hawke was most likely (Lawful Neutral with smattering of Lawful Evil)

My "canon" Warden and Hawke were related (both Amell mages), but the similarity stops there. My Warden was pretty heroic for the most part, and my Hawke took a slow but inevitable slide toward Villain Protagonist thanks to Anders' influence.

Both of them were human, so for DA:I, I'd like to play my inquisitor as an elf. Don't know enough of the backstory to determine an interesting personality yet, but I"m sure something will come up.  I am very fond of Guile Heroes, though, and almost every PC I play has at least a little bit of that.
