True... still, knives are quieter and much less noticeable than blowing up an entire block to kill one person.Toasted Llama wrote...

If the templars are going to be just like they were in DA2 that's not going to matter anyway lol

Considering most situations where the murder knife appears the victim is either defenseless or subdued, I don't think any sane Inquistor's first reaction would be to ruthlessly bash the poor souls face in with their fists. O_o
Besides, mages carrying swords and knives is supported by in-game lore - all mages were required to learn the art of self-defense without the use of magic. Well, at least until the program was cancelled, but still.

If you're gonna bash something, at least call it the right name.
And no, I disagree with you. The Murder Knife is the best.

Not for mages. I prefer roasting their bones than to stab them when I'm playing mage.

Why did you bothering writing that? I already said I disagree with not needing a Murder Knife, I don't care for your reasons of disagreeing with my disagreement.

I know this isn't a big issue but I just felt like making a thread about it. I've always felt it was really weird to have the mage/warrior warden pull out a little knife and kill people with it; instead of using your powers as a mage or using your bare hands as a warrior to show your strength.
When I played DA2 I saw the knife of death was back and once again it looked really weird and akward for the mage/warrior characters I made to use it.
So here's hoping that DA:I will maybe give each class a unique kill animation and not just resort to the knife of death.
When i was in Iraqi i hade a M4 carbine my standed issue M9 boyonet so i don't see why warrior would not carry knife

Maybe for significant kills (such as a High Dragon, or bosses) there could be class/weapon-specific kills.

... Of course, using magic to kill someone automatically means swallowing up the entire city in a cloud of fire. Not like mages could do something akin to the Force Choke or anything.

I'm fine with having the Murder Knife as the standard form of cutscene executions.

I like the sound of this. It's much more doable, and they already did it with Corypheus, after all.

Imagine you are a mage. Why would you even use a knife to murder someone? Use your magic and remove their spine via their mouth and show it to them before they die a few seconds later cause of legendary agony.
In short I can't even imagine warriors or rouges without murder knife but I don't want them for mages.

'cause you run outta mana due to long fights or having a Templar suck it out? So having a knife is kinda sensible and could save your ass while you can't use magic?
