Isn't Boogie a pug? I believe he got 20 headshots once or twice in his career.

Come to think of it, it's surprisingly rare to see that, even on PC. It's always sad whenever I see people running around with Black Widow X's and get like 10 headshots at the most.

Although with such a high risk, high reward weapon, it may make sense to instead aim for center of mass. Better to hit the target and not deal as much damage, than to not hit the target at all.

Although, in all fairness, the game does heavily incentivize headshots. I mean, the modifier is 2.5 times (3 with the Valkyrie). If that isn't compelling, I don't know what is.

Bodyshot so that it intentionally doesn't kill, but applies ammo effect, then detonate to hit multiple targets.  That's my Batdept's plan.  Use the Arc Pistol, body shot followed by lash or warp (depending on if lash will effect it) resulting in FE for groups, headshot lone targets.

That's quite situational. If I have one or two weaker enemies on me, I'll rather just remove their heads.

I just got a 20 headshot medal in a pug. Against Cerberus its fairly easy, those guardians.:o
Of course it was a TGI with a harrier, but still.:innocent:

Okay, here's some evidence to dispute the claims that (1) posting on this forum & (2) playing for a long time equate to being a good player.

I needed to warm up, since I had not played for a while, so I started a bronze match. Almost immediately, two relatively high ranking players joined (N7 900 & N7 624). Since these guys had banners, we can assume that they were at the very least "lurkers". After a 4th person (N7 228) joined, we started the match.

It was on Firebase London, my weakest map, against the collectors. My first thought was "okay, let's see if I can at least keep up with these guys."

Famous last words.

By the halfway point, it was clear that they were being outmatched. In fact, I managed a clutch on both the 6th (high priority targets) and 8th (activating the 4 devices) rounds.

By the time that the dust settled, and three of us had been extraced (N7 900 did not make it), the scores were horribly one sided: 64k to me with the other 3 being between 30 and 34k. In addition, I got 3 gold medals (including the *supposedly* coveted 20 headshots medal), a silver assault rifle medal, and a bronze tech kills medal. None of the others even got a single gold medal.

These guys had been bested by someone running a stock Valkyrie on a rank 17 Turian Sentinel, with an N7 ranking of only 79...

And just in case you thought that this was an isolated event, the next 3 games with these guys, while not quite as dramatic, were no less one sided.

Back when I still played, I'd almost always have the medal by wave 3 on any class. I wasn't an amazing player like some, but my accuracy was always top notch.

I'm in the same position, exept I play a few game every month and then. But then I don't get it until 7...

OT: No, I hardly see anyone in a PUG get 20 HS. Hard to tell why, as the body isn't much bigger then the head anyway and they both move in the same slow, predicteble, patterns.

Firstly, I wrote that if someone participates (posting or lurking) on this site then they're likely to be an above average player. I didn't state BSN'er =good player.

Secondly, your randoms having banners proves nothing except they know where the challenge menu is in the multiplayer menu. Having alternate banners (which can only be accessed through BSN) signifies at least a passing knowledge of the forum.

As for the rest, it was only a bronze match. I'd guess you were taking it a whole lot more seriously than anyone else.

The N7 900 was running an alt.

And, yeah, what can I say, I don't do anything half-heartedly. I take pugs just as seriously as I do clan matches.

20 HS is not hard at all. Especially against Cerberus. I have got the medal with my Talon and the Wraith even. If I am playing solo or waiting for people to join I will try to get 5 grabs, 20 hs and used to get 15 melee before playing for damage. (Mostly when leveling characters) Getting grabs in PUGs is much harder for me as they die before you can grab em!

In all honesty, I think that I have been a bit too detemined to argue against the OP's point. For the most part, I agree that the average skill of those who visit (not necessarily post on) a forum will be higher than the average skill of those who do not. I think what annoyed me about the thread was the superiority that people seemed to display over those not active on the forums.

That being said, I find that in very tight knit communities, like the South African Battlefield community, people tend to learn from each other, rather than by sitting on forums.

Asari adept (stasis bubble) with Wraith in PUG will almost guaranty a golden headshot medal almost every match on gold. With good team it depends, since everything is sleared so fast…

Whenever you're done playing, you don't say anything/respond.  So I have to guess you're not playing after a few minutes.  Sorry, but that is a pet peeve of mine.
