To be fair on the Templars, they didn't know what was going on.

Their solution was "shut the door."

And it worked!

(mostly because Wynne was holding it with magic)

It was probably something like, "Do you want me to be with you forever and ever?"

As for Connor, yeah, that's right.

Yea, I don't buy the idea that if you don't agree with a demon on anything, you're immune to possession.  I just don't believe that.

All you have to do is go into the Fade, get ino a fight and lose it, and BAM, you're possessed. No deal needed.

Or run into a demon who is already sundered from the Fade, get into a fight and lose, BAM, you're possessed.

Or forced possession as shown in DAO and I think DA2

Not until now. They either tricked the mage, won battles against the mage (notice that both the mage and demon need to be in the same place, fade or Thedas). The mage was very desperate and called them or someone forced the mage until they gave in.

No demon went like muhaha I'm coming and you are gonna be possessed!!! aka no demon has penetrated its way into a mage not yet. Remember Feynriel? The STONGEST demons were tryng to fool him in order to possess him, if Feynriel accepted his father's (demon in disguise) offer to travel to Antiva with him that would have made the demon possess him. Its not that simple

Keep telling yourself that maybe you will actually believe. Yes the big strong templars where trying to stop the circle from being taken by demons over by hiding from...I mean watching the door. Yes that what they were doing they were watching the door they weren't in no way hiding like scared litle rabbits. They were big strong knights who did there job and protected the...you know I can't finish that sentence.

Funny, I do believe it, since you have to be so damn snarky. And pray tell, genius, what would happen if they went inside and failed, hmmm? What would stop the demons from waltzing out the front door?

Yes while Wynne and children were fighting an Abomination the Templars were protecting them from....drafts from outside.

He looked like he was being tortured, probably until he accepted a demon like what was happening to the Senior Enchanters.

Floating in a state of cryostatis doesn't really scream pain staking torture to me.  It looked more like a ritual.

Don't forget a healthy dose of blood magic either!

The mage's hearts of pure goodness would lash out to the skies.  A beam of light would fall down and strike the demon into the chasms of the underworld.

Eh, again, I can't say it was the wrong call because they didn't have much information. They didn't know what was going on until the Warden brought them proof the Circle hadn't fallen.

But yes, even Cullen balks at killing children and innocent mages who aren't Maelificar.

Whatever the situation, the Rite of Annulment is used very liberally.

If a demon had power to freeze a whole lake I'd let him possess me lol. Joking aside we do know pride demons are the strongest of all demons but it remains to be seen if they have such power.

Granted, we have yet to see an Abomination like Meredith's sister let loose. Or this one.

Could be gameplay and junk.  Could you imagine the rage that would happen if the PC couldn't stop one?

They weren't even backing Wynne and the children up. they let them hold off the Abominations and even left them to fight an Abomination on their own.

The Templars are sworn to protect mages yet they could not even be bothered to get the children into the same room as them for safety.

Wynne was what was preventing the Abominations getting out of the circle, the Templars did not even back Wynne up.

Cullen wanted the Fereldan circle annulled including the children.

Given the dead bodies in the dormitories....I'd say that Wynne got there AFTER the Templars had to retreat.  Gregoir is shocked that any of them are alive, so how does he even know that Wynne is in there holding them back?

I WANT a boss battle like that. A battle that you have to survive. A battle you can't win. Perhaps one you have to escape before it kills you.

As much as i would love it, the non BSN player base wouldn't allow it.

I want to battle a demon that wipes the floor with you. Perhaps you have to try and seal it away, or find a way to escape...oh the possibilties!!

it would certainly be a nice twist, better than a cutscene victory

Bioware did say that their would be some areas that if you go to early the encounters will be high level and you would be killed. So maybe an area would have some Abominations that are too powerful for you when you encounter them.

Or the game can allow you to fully fight them, reduce their health to 5% only to get R@ped in cut scenes and escape with your life. Most games have used this strategy. Then the player gets stronger and beats them.

:P Magic is a Curse within DA.

Says who? A bunch of old women living the luxury life in Val Royeaux?

i magic gives you a little crap that barely allows protect yourself and have massive penalties like being demon magnet who can be possessed every minute of their life.

If you want facts damage done by mages>>>>>>>good things done by mages pretty much says a big deal they are responsible for at least half of disasters that we have to face during mages.

So yes magic is curse because as i said provides a little and penalties are huge.
