Bum an abomination? No thanks but I take it you are pro-circle right? Because you are right: it was Connor who invited the demon and who sought its power. Connor without power was a good host for the demon. The demon doesn't need a powerful mage. Any mage's body will do because as we saw, even in Connor's body, the demon was able to summon an army of undead.

The Circle is a necessity to teach mages and keep a watch on them.

Well no im not pro-circle but not in pro-mage way im for removing mages from thedas best and fastest way reason behind it because circles simple don't work ferelden circle ended as abomnation hatchery ,kirkwall circle smiliar.Mages constantly escape from circles crap anders did it 7-8 times , peoples aren't safe neither mages are pleased another mages that templars instead hunting mages that are outside circle mostly are watching them wasting time.Number of magical incidents that we saw is a way too big and usually have devastating effects.

Simple circles don't give world safety when it comes about magic.Unlike normal peoples mages can't be controled becuase they can become abomnations at any time of their lifes and thats when we ignore crazy and destructive mages like quentin or other magisters.

My point was that stronger mage when demon get him stronger abomnation is.So keeping and watching them as i can say turned be one big failure even not because it worked badly but also it collapsed because neither side was pleased mages were abused and ignored and templars wanted even more control over them and turning a blind eye.

Does the codex say HOW they learned to make people tranquil? Surely there must be a way to restore one's connection to the fade...

Trial and error probably.
But you have read Asunder, no? Cause we now know how to reverse Tranquility...

There's always been a cheap and easy way to end Tranquility. Execute the Mage.

Simple and effective.

Am I not allowed to laugh when someone points out the obvious? ;)

I have a rather...dark sense of humour. :bandit:

And I'm insulted that Cousin Kenobi, who appears to have let his beard grow out recently, would think I wouldn't ask any questions.  Why, I would be positively Inquisitive.

I was searching for something completely unreleated when I bumpled into this post on Tumblr:

Posted Image

"So many mages here could be brought peace by the Rite. So few have experienced it."

Irony: The Rite of Tranquility has majorly affected every person in this shot.

#1: Apprentice Jaken, whose lover Helena was made Tranquil by Ser Alrik. Helena is the white-haired woman speaking, who acknowledges their ‘illicit relaitonship’ and praises Ser Alrik for ‘rescuing’ her from her ‘sins’, and that she is ‘his to command’.

#2: Nameless Elven Tranquil who has been wandering through the Gallows since the beginning, who was denied a Harrowing.

#3: Anders, whose friend and former lover (also made Tranquil by Ser Alrik) begged to be killed in a moment of clarity rather than continue to live after slipping back into mindless Tranquility.

Ser Alrik has been doing this for years. He did it to Karl, and it’s pretty clear that Karl wasn’t his first.

You would think that Anders would want Ser Alrik dead more than any other templar in Kirkwall. And yet, for more than three years he deliberately does not go out and initiate any kind of direct conflict. He says he’s had a run-in with him at the Gallows while trying to free mages, and yet managed to apparently restrain himself at that time, too.

He’s so self-conscious and self-aware of the damage he can do and the fact that it will hurt both his cause and innocent people if he instigates conflict that he holds off and utilizes nonviolent means to fight back for years.

Even when you do end up confronting Alrik it’s by accident—Anders asks for your help to gather information to bring it to someone who will hopefully listen and put a stop to what Alrik is doing, despite the fact that pretty much everyone he talks to tells him he’s being ridiculous and delusional and criticizes him for having no self-control when the amount of willpower and control he does have is immense.

Of course, he tries to bring Ser Alrik’s plans to light not knowing that Meredith already knew about them, and had done nothing more than refuse to go along with them without taking any action to stop him. If anything, he’s been given more authority, ‘official’ or not.

The vanity of mundanes makes it impossible for them to get over the fact that they're ordinary... And thus, they justify any action that would destroy or debilitate those with abilities they lack. They never seem to grasp that they will never stop the creation of those who are "different". This is why there will never be an end to this conflict and as a Mage character, I will destroy anyone who tries to take my life or deny me the freedom to simply live as I am. Mundanes always think they have domain over normalcy... They don't... They won't.

Anders is that you?

I (always) killed Anders... If that's any indication. :^) Don't mistake the will to exist as one is, with a lack of concern for others. Some just won't kowtow to mundanes just because they (mundanes) think they should. Anders was weak and detestable. Thedas was best served with his "departure".

So what he still caused all that mess remove connor there is no mess kill isolde mess still would be in case. Now you are using excuse that connor was abomnation because of isolde but how do you know he wouldn't end as one without isolde? As i said mage can have 10000 excuses like "i wanted power" , "i was too dumb" , "i wanted cure my girlfriend" . We have massive amount of mages that were trained and still ended as demon snack. No isolde no loghain can turn into abomnation only mage can.And again mages are unstable nuclear weapon circle , no circle their life is russian roulette but instead 1 bullet we have 4.And if you want aruge that in circle he would ended better see broken circle quest what i pointed...

As true as your statement may be, consider this... Loghain used his might and influence as a Warrior to turn people against the very ones who could/would save Thedas from the blight. He used that same might and influence to enslave a portion of the populace in order to serve his desire to rule. He likely allowed his "second", (Rendon Howe) to imprison his daughter... How exactly is this different than a Mage abusing his power? Also, we know that demons can possess beings other than Mages, like... say "Templars"... "Trees"... "Animals"... little girls (Amalia). So saying that only Mages are susceptible to becoming abominations is completely false.

Because loghian was leader and had army behind him and that means he is dependent on peoples who might turn on him or just refuse doing that for example i doubt that he would simple order kill everyone in ferelden. Now we have for example single mage he isn't charismatic , he don't have army of peoples and don't have any restrictions and moral qualms (as abomnation) what he have he have vast power and he is destroying everything that want. You can ask yourself what would be more dangerous Hitler or doomsday hitler had political power so he was restricted doomsday had personal power so he wasn't bound by anything.

So ultimately loghain is danger on national scale at worst but he is normal person in that.Abomnation is danger for everything on national scale to world scale and it will kill peoples and spread destruction nothing more it can cause end of the world.Loghian at worst will pull genocide against orlesians and i doubt that he would be successful in that.

There is a good speculation to be made here. The first time we see Anders "glow" is when he sees Karl made tranquil. In that scene he passes out then Justice takes over. We can easily speculate that this event really changed Anders and significantly increased his anger, turning into Vengeance more and more. On future when Justice takes over Anders no longer passes out, and Justice simply takes over when Anders is angry mostly when fighting Templars.

My point is even if Anders wasn't possessed seeing Karl really made him angry, It might have been one of the major events that really turned Justice into Vengeance.

Lol in the game both my mage hawke and Anders knew the cc spell horror. It tortures the victim's mind. I killed all the templars and after that ordered all party members to stop and Anders and my Hawke took turns in casting horror on ser alrik. It gave me great satisfaction. They way he was bathing in pain... DELICIOUS. I did for like 5 minutes, he even screamed
