I see most people go back and save whoever's at the bomb. I did discover once purely by accident that if you save the team at the AA tower instead that you'll save the salarian team as well. You'll even be able to chat with them for a short time on the Normandy. Sadly, that was done before I knew that you could save captain Kirrahe so he wasn't there.
I saved Kaiden at the bomb, and the Salarians were on board the Normandy for me. I think whether or not they are there has more to do with your actions as you infiltrate Saren's base - taking out the air rockets, disrupting geth communications, turning off the alarms in the way that puts more pressure on yourself instead sending extra geth at the Salarians.

Normandy even if you go for the bomb, though I think it would have been
more interesting if you only saw them if you went to the AA
tower.
Heheh, I really don't need any more guilt about my descision to let Ashley die. Besides, the Salarians were split into three groups, Ashley was in a different group from Kirrahe. It makes sense that his survival wouldn't depend on hers.

Also, the confrontation against Saren looks a lot cooler on the AA tower.SleepyBird wrote...

Same here. "It's not racism. Not really." Yes. Yes it is, Ash.

You realise she was defending what she perceived to be the alien attitude towards humans with that line, right? She certainly does come out with some insensitive, racist lines in the game... but that isn't one of them. Neither's the "dog" line (also frequently misinterpreted) that comes prior, in which she compares humanity to dogs that are being sicked on a bear (Saren/Geth/Reapers) to die on behalf of the Council (the human 'master' in the analogy).InHarmsWay wrote...

She has an entirely reasonable opinion: That, generally speaking, exceptions or no, every species will look out for itself first when push comes to shove: "It's... human nature".
Nothing about that particular dialogue exchange is racist -- and she certainly doesn't imply that humanity is any better. It's simply pessimistic regarding the nature of people (be they humans OR aliens).

^This. Ash's fiery attitude is only entertaining for so long. After that, she just comes across as abrasive and kinda crazy to me.

1) I get awfully goddamned tired of being forced into a pseudo-relationship with her.
2) The attitude towards other species.
3) While I have nothing against her religion (like most people, I am religious myself), there's something about "I'm religious and my little sisters look up to me" that makes her seem right to die, for unexplained reasons. Alongside that, the fact that her entire team died also somehow fits into it. It's a mental thing on my end, hard to explain.
4) Kaidan seems to have a greater purpose out there for him.
5) Dying certainly wasn't the only way to redeem her family name (fighting Saren probably would have done it), but giving her own life willingly sure as hell did.

Well, I'm a girl and I usually play as a female Shepard. But I have to admit, I quite like Ash =3 On the other hand, I get your point. It's really annoying when I just talk to Kaidan and Liara (and I'm not even being super nice) and both of them ask me if I am in some kind of romantic relationship with the other one:pinched:
But yeah, I like Ash. So I usually leave Kaidan behind....
