I think it's better for male characters to pick ashley and let Kaidan die, for the storyline.

Truthfully, if I had the choice I would have left Liara on Virmire. I usually like intelligent women but socially awkward stalkers that hack into my personal files are not to be trusted. Besides most people in ME seem to be racist. At least I can talk some sense into Ashley. My male sheps leave Kaiden and my female sheps leave Ashley.

kaidan is like your best buddy as a male shepard, I killed him the first time through but I felt pretty guilty about it and will probably play through again to get a "Perfect" ME3 save at some point with him alive.

If it turns out that she throws a fit about cheating on her, even after the cold reception on Horizon, I'll Virmire her ass in a heartbeat, otherwise I'm fine, but I'm still gonna do a playthrough in which Kaiden survives.

On one playthrough she got Virmire'd as retaliation for kiling Wrex.

I did kill off Ashley once because I did also find her very abrasive towards the alien crew members.

No, I didn't mind Ashley as opposed to Kaiden (granted, I'm not a fan of Ashley either).



I did a run as a Female Shepard, just to do it....and I STILL killed Kaiden...



As for Kaiden being your "best buddy" for a Male Shepard, no thanks. I saw Garrus in that role for me.

As a male military commander(Soldier, Spacer, War Hero) I decided to rescue a biotic lieutenant(who was with Kirrahe) over a gunnery chief. Also Ashley's family factored into the choice and I was hoping her sacrifice would help clear her family's name.

My Shep has the same background and class as yours, and after reading this I realize Ash's death would be fitting, and it would clear the Williams name of being blacklisted. After Virmire, she wishes she could have gave her life for that purpose anyway, if Kaiden wasn't such a hardass about being rescued I would choose Kaiden every time.

The only time Ash gets nuked is when I want to make sure no romance carries over to ME2 so i can start fresh. Pick her over Liara and leave her to die. Otherwise Kaidan always get to stay with the nuke, even when my character is female.

I hated both Kaidan and Ashley. Kaidan because he was boring as hell, and Ashley because she was naive and annoying.
It's like decided between a giant douche and a turd sandwhich so I decided at random and got rid of Kaidan.

I still don't regret my choice.

huh? the sacrifice is on virmire the romance is on illos.. its not possibile to do things in that order

First time around I just picked ramdomly and decided to let Kaiden die because I barely ever went around talking to my crew members. Next playthrough I talked to them as much as possible, ended up killing Ashley. Not only is she racist but she's also ignroant, annoying and overly proud.

Kaiden is kind of cheesy and creepy for just openly saying he has a crush on Shepard but there's something slightly likeable about him. It might be tha he has Carth Onasi's voice. I still prefer him over Ashley, especially since he's less dramatic and annoying on Horizon.

I have had a male Shepard who was in love with her make the hard choice on who he saved...the mission came first, I admit I was somewhat curious if I could pick up Liara on the "rebound" but that didn't happen and he later decided that he would keep his friends close and his enemies closer with respect to Miranda.



Not having a romance in ME makes a difference for the lead up to Ilos and I found I missed it over all in the game when I didn't have one. Liara was really not what I expected, she was utterly and completely charming...even if she is blue and has tentacles for hair. My male Shepard that was in a romance with her stuck with her through ME2 but my female Shepard thought she had gone totally nuts and dropped her like a fully charged heat sink to climb Jacob's ladder.



Horizon is rough regardless. I fully agreed with my character (regardless of which one) "I'm sick of this colony lets get out of here."

Well, you get Liara for the first mission, develop the romance with both. Right after the 3rd main quest, you will be confronted, where you choose the human over the asari. Then do Virmire last, and let the human lover die. Since you already chose the human, Liara's romance will not carry over to ME2.

My MaleShep killed Ashley, but the decision was based upon her being a ****. Yeah yeah, I could paragon her and make her less xenophobic, but I'd rather save the guy that's not a jerk to begin with.

Did you really play ME?? Really, I don't understand how can you think that way.
I supose Alenko and Shep never met before SR1, so he is introduced not too longbefore Ash.
And his cnversation su**s as much as Jacob's on ME2

I killed Ashley. Because Kaidan was infinitely more useful. And L2 biotics are cool. Which brings up the question, is he still an L2 or did he finally upgrade?
