I just finished a play-though where my male saved Kaiden, it was mainly because I wanted to ensure I was completely free for ME 2.

I usually don't. My chivalrous nature always makes me pick her over Kaiden. That and I always felt that Ashley would be better off staying alive so she doesn't go down in history a racist bigot, further slandering her family's name. Though I guess when it comes down to it in ME2, either way she winds up becoming a hero and sort of redeems her family. The only time I ever did sacrifice her was when I played a female Shepard and romanced Kaiden.

I usually choose Kaidan over Ashley, but I don't hate her.

I did on my second playthrough, because I was romancing Liara and wanted to do all the major decisions differently from my first playthrough.

On my first playthrough I saved her, romanced her, and my Shepard from that is staying faithful to her throughout ME2. I think she gets a lot of undeserved hate, her xenophobic views are a bit annoying but completely understandable, not to mention realistic. Violent first contact took place barely a generation before the game's events, if anything it's miraculous how friendly many humans seem to be with aliens. Not to mention that if you pick Paragon choices with her you can convince her that aliens aren't too bad.

I killed her because I wanted to be friendly with her, but picking the paragon options simply made me rommance her, which I wanted to avoid to rommance Tali in ME2 guilt free

I let her die in my second play through of ME1. Didn't hate her I simply wanted to see what impact it'd have in ME2 and I tend to different choices with my two Sheps cause I wanta see how different the final results will be in ME3.

I did in my last playthrough and will again. What with the whole thing with her grandfather, it just seems like the right thing to do.

Plus Kaiden was there from the very beginning. He's the one my Shep is gonna be sitting around in the VA hospital with going "remember the time..."

Yes and no in that order.

With the no, Han only talked to Ashley twice and she came on to him at the third. Once when we in between missions and twice with the ship got impounded. Yes he done the deed at the third. I done it on purpose though because I know whats going to happen. I want to ****** he off and hello Miranda (she with me this time I usually have Jack and Grunt with me in Horizon. Grunt and Miranda humm? ) I want to see that bra. pity its not a see through though.

I'm afraid I always tend to kill off Kaidan. Wish I could save both, but I find Ashley a more interesting character.

Mainly because I fond Him to be a cooler character, don't know how
anyone found ashly cooler a girl that is a plane G.I. Jane that is into
poetry and a crazy religious or A Guy who takes orders has a secret past
can move things with his mind has some strange implant we have neer
heard of aperrently was wronged as a child kind of like in that one move
where the girl could set people on fire with her mind...

He was
some times a ****** all and all a way cooler more dynamic character.

dude if they had Matter Energy transport like in Star Trek, they could have saved both along with everyone else (full squad).
