It's made by a newer studio, so while I have high hopes, I will try to keep my expectations realistic. That said, The Lion King was also made by a B team.I Xandra I wrote...
I hope it will be fantastic and outshine the whole trilogy from all perspectives. Don't sound like too high expectations, hmm?

seriously though, if the new mass effect & DA:I aren't good I'd say it's all over. though maybe not for ea, that publisher seems to be like the psycho killer jason, no matter how many times he should have died he always seems to come back.

You are not hoping it is good. If that is all you are hoping for then you won't have any problems because it will be. What you are hoping for is that it will be stellar. (And I thought ME1 was the worst of the lot. Of course, I don't suffer from nostalgia having started with ME3.)
I'd have to disagree. me2 & 3 might have been better mechanically, but IMHO me1 did far better than it's younger siblings in other aspects.

A greater focus on exploration and depth would be nice. Hopefully the "ambitious" comment by Aaron Flynn reflects that.
I just hope they have some skilled writers working on the next game. I don't mean to doubt the writing team, but it confuses me why some of the least experienced writers were in charge.

Now that Bioware are free to write whatever story they want, I have hope for a good game. Breaking free from the Reaper plot will give them a lot more to work with, imo.
Yes, thank god the reapers are gone. Now let us turn to a more tractable and understandable threat, not something that can only be defeated by magic and explained through the most convoluted logic.

And yes, maybe by the writers of ME 3 as well.
But by everyone? No.

I agree completely. Lets not have another Reaper sized threat again. Ever.

Mako, come back to me.
Good lord, no. Rather have that floaty-thingy we had in 2nd game. Atleast on consoles the Mako controlled in TOO realistic fashion. Meaning your gun couldn't shoot very far down, so if you were in a bad position, the canon just fired over your enemies, even when your sights were dead on. Very frustrating, even when it's what would realisticaly happen too.
If they bring Mako back... it needs heavy redesign to be "fun to use". But vehicles are RARELY fun to use in games. I always feel like I could do so much better on foot.

I liked the way the mako's weapons worked, I don't need more space magic making it's cannon function in a crazy fashion.

Nothing magic sbout missiles. Just retrofit the Hammerhead weapon onto the Mako. OTOH, anything with the Hammerhead weapon system is invincible, so maybe that's not such a great idea.

Disney has different teams of animators. At the time, everyone wanted to work on Pocahontas, so The Lion King was made by their secondary "B team". It turned out to be far superior to Pocahontas, but no one at Disney expected that when they started on these two projects.o Ventus wrote...

So my comparison means that, while Mass Effect 4 isn't made by one of the primary teams at BioWare (being the two teams in Edmonton), it may still be better than both Dragon Age Inquisition and the new IP. It's not what I expect, but it could happen.

ME2 at least had variety of being arcade shooter gallery with puzzles put in on occasion. While still feeling I'm exploring different worlds with different inhabitants.

Also important is the exploration aspect of quests. In ME2 you had to find the N7 quests, while in ME3 Traynor just told you where you had to go. Because of this, I had already played every mission in the game after only one playthrough. Even after many playthroughs, I still found new missions in ME2.Mesina2 wrote...
I want quality quests, not redundantly long and dull quests of ME1 nor brainless and repetitive arcade shooter gallery of ME3.
