Also important is the exploration aspect of quests. In ME2 you had to find the N7 quests, while in ME3 Traynor just told you where you had to go. Because of this, I had already played every mission in the game after only one playthrough. Even after many playthroughs, I still found new missions in ME2.

Really? As long as you buy the star charts on Illium you should be able to easily find them all on the first playthrough.

The exploration aspect in ME2 was nice (not so nice in ME1 with the stupid Mako) but it made less (or even no) sense in ME3: Shepard is fighting a galactic war. She's got no time for exploration.

I like the ME3/Traynor approach quite a bit. I just want more out of side missions than the "Galaxy at War" stuff. I know that was necessary for this game, but wouldn't mind seeing the approach again with a different story direction. Traynor's best parts were the ones that did have a story (not the multiplayer tie ins) - Grissom/Jack and Cerberus Scientists/Jacob. Roleplaying wise, it also endeared me to her. She saved everyone's asses.

I hope there is a character as good as ME2 Jack.

There won't be. And someone needs to be preemptively kicked in the balls, just for failing at it before it even happens.

I hope it is good too. I just do not want to see any linear story telling in a rpg again. ME3 drove me up a wall in that regard.

Mako, come back to me.

Good lord, no. Rather have that floaty-thingy we had in 2nd game. Atleast on consoles the Mako controlled in TOO realistic fashion. Meaning your gun couldn't shoot very far down, so if you were in a bad position, the canon just fired over your enemies, even when your sights were dead on. Very frustrating, even when it's what would realisticaly happen too.

If they bring Mako back... it needs heavy redesign to be "fun to use". But vehicles are RARELY fun to use in games. I always feel like I could do so much better on foot.

Man, it's hard to be in a bad position with a cannon like that.  Perfectly straight trajectory with unlimited range.  You could hit enemies that were barely visible.  Sure it was kinda dull, but when you hit something with the gun it died.  If they had given us a little more to do with it, I think people would feel differently.

Damn hammerhead, with its weak missiles and non -existent armor...

I want the new Mass Effect game to be good but Bioware seriously stop going out of your way to remove the elements that make Mass Effect well Mass Effect. The rpg elements and exploration where both are key reasons I like so many other people loved Mass Effect 1 so much.

My Ideal Mass Effect 4 is this in a nutshell
1.Character Creation with Race Selection
2.Mass Effect 1's Exploration "Mako/Hammerhead both used"
3.Mass Effect 2's Sidequest Design
4.Mass Effect 2's Quality of Charcters

If Mass Effect 4 had those than I would buy it on release day hell I would pre Order it oh yeah no auto Dialogs they sucked major A** in ME3 and I hope Bioware never uses them again.Image IPB

I honestly am not all that intrested in the new IP I am more concerned about the Franchise that I love Mass Effect & Dragon Age but if it turns out to be a interesting game then maybe I might change my opinion about it but I am alittle cautious with Bioware and new IP'S.

I am still waiting for Jade Empire 2Image IPB

It's mostly because I was never actively looking for missions. I was scanning for minerals in random systems and went on whichever sidemissions happened to be in that area.

Now that Bioware are free to write whatever story they want, I have hope for a good game. Breaking free from the Reaper plot will give them a lot more to work with, imo.

Yes, thank god the reapers are gone. Now let us turn to a more tractable and understandable threat, not something that can only be defeated by magic and explained through the most convoluted logic.

I agree completely. Lets not have another Reaper sized threat again. Ever.

This is depressing to read. See this Bioware? Mac? This is what awful writers do to a franchise; we now have a complete lack of faith in your talents.

I hope it will be fantastic and outshine the whole trilogy from all perspectives. Don't sound like too high expectations, hmm?

With a good writer we might be surprised at how easy that can be.

EDIT: Oh, double post apparently, sorry...

I know a lot of people in this forum don't like or play multiplayer ME3, but imagine character creation like that. All those options. That's what I'd like to see in MENext's single player. Sure, they'd have to change up the voices a little, add Turian's doubling, have deeper voices for Krogan, Salarian higher voices, things like that, but that can be done in sound editing.

MAKO dropping into unlimited proccedural generated worlds and exploring (in and out of the MAKO)!  :)

I understand it will use the FROTBITE3 engine?  While BF4 MP is a mess, I cant play the campaingn without imagining how the new MASS EFFECT will look and play... Could be a georgeous thang o' beauty.

I just have this feeling that ME4 is going to become so freaking awesome haha, I have no idea why but it is just a hunch. :P We'll see if it comes out, especially after all the dissapointing releases of late (Rome II why?)

The trick is that you all have high hopes. You need to keep your hope at more of an earthly level and need to not pay to close attention to every so gle news report and take it with a grain of salt. Or you will be massivly dissaponted.

Assuming that the Next ME is in the same vein as DAI I'm going to bet that the Next ME will kind of pull the same cards that DAI is so lets all expect a sequel with another N7 who is given a ship and a mild level of retconning the universe to make it all better

Hopefully it's not an n7. That would mean yet another human protaganist. I would hope that it's more like Dao with different beginings for each race and some classes.
