Certainly not, and Hawke should realise as much if (s)he decides to enter a relationship with her. That said, Isabela should, conversely, realise that most people do see it in the more traditional way. As such, she should realise that sleeping around with others would be perceived as unfaithful unless otherwise agreed.Toasted Llama wrote...

Now, that would obviously depend on the relationship they've agreed upon, would it not? Traditionally, sex is indeed tied to love, so unless it's explicitly agreed upon, or it can be safely assumed based on the social context, one would expect faithfulness to involve NOT sleeping around with others.
While it's definitely true what you say, do you really think Isabela is the type of person to accept to those more traditional conditions?

Consequence-wise, I imagine only a Warden who impregnated Morrigan or a Hawke who romanced Anders will have any real "negative" reactions from various NPCs or otherwise.

As I remember, Hawke can ask if she's the Leliana that traveled with the Hero of Ferelden. So she then adds he/she was very dear to her heart.TheKomandorShepard wrote...
Well it shouldn't have impact and why character should mention that unless special occasion appears.
For example it was stupid as hell what they did with Leliana and her "o hello stranger did i mention that warden is my lover?" i mean who does that?
Alistair for example did it correctly he talk about warden when he speak with Teagan who is his friend and knew warden so it looks natural.

Watch Morrigan say, "Yes, I romanced the hero of Ferelden but I killed him while he wasn't looking and took our baby elsewhere". Everybody who went with her in Witch Hunt would be kicking themselves!Secretlyapotato wrote...
Probably most people's romances will get mentioned to some extent and Morrigan's definitely will be.

can we get a mod in here to ether straighten out this thread or to close it cause this clearly this "Discussion" requires it's own Thread.

That would be funny, most people would probably go back and change it in the Keep and pretend she was stabbed instead or whatever. >.<

I can imagine Varric making (at least) a passing comment about Hawke and his/her romance/s, where appropriate.

I like the little references to previous choices made, even if it is a different PC. I'm currently playing DA2 imported from a new Warden, different to my usual one, and I'm enjoying the differences, however tiny. It's just a nice nod to what I did in the last game, and I'd like to see it continue. I'm not saying it should be a massive quest or inform the main plot or anything else, but those little references keep a personal thread running throughout the games even as the setting/PC/main characters change.
No doubt, since he is a companion in both games, and as we all know, companions are some of the most important characters in BioWare games.I can imagine Varric making (at least) a passing comment about Hawke and his/her romance/s, where appropriate.

If it happened, I would keep it even though I love my Warden. But I totally think Morrigan has changed now and she probably is more "motherly". Take that how you will seeing as Morrigan is the offspring of Flemeth.Secretlyapotato wrote...

Fellas I wouldn't bother arguing with some of the elitest pigs around here who think their opinion should be the universal standard. This is after all "Past romances and its consequence" thread, so anyone who says romances shouldnt be mentioned at all are acting troll-y considering that's exactly what the topic here is.

*facepalm* Your opinion isn't absolute, that's exactly why other people think that romances shouldn't matter. Having an opinion you don't share =/= trolling. The topic here is what the consequence of past romances will be/should be. Thus, no impact at all is an entirely valid and possible standpoint.

obviously you didn't read the second page AT ALL, which is what Fury was talking about. Where it became a debate about a 'closed' vs 'open' relationship
As for the whole 'romances shouldn't be mentioned at all' i Have one response to you.
Varic, the biggest blabber mouth DA has got. I'm sure he has all the stories of who screwed who. I mean he was asking about postions and stuff (I think, or was that just someone's cannon i forget)
So its going to get mentioned.
As for consequences, I don't think there are going to be too many. I mean other than a Warden king or Warden Queen sort of thing other than that DA2 and the "Champion of Kirkwall" was pretty much small time. Maybe Vicount Hawke would be better, by as far As I know the Vicount was just pretty much Mayor of the city not of all the free marchs, cause I seriously doubt they would leave a vacium in that long if it was for all the free marches..... if thats where it was I forget been over a year now sense i last played a full run.

Romances shouldn't have consequences aside from romance.
Depending on the story being written, romance can equally have an impact aside from romance.
