I'm sorry but I fail to see how dumping aggro constantly is the best.

Actually, I'd prefer to just kill things faster. Actually...I was in a pug with someone who used duration cloak on their TGI and when we all bled out, all they did was spam stim packs and duration cloak. For about a minute until they were brutally gunned down by the enemy because they couldn't be bothered to kill things while we were alive.

I realize this is kind of an extreme example, but your thread is kind of extreme itself.

MP is awesome, but it is entirely about killing enemies. There are no benefits to avoiding killing enemies, except occasionally to keep more enemies from spawning near an objective. If there were goals built around sneaking or sabotage or map control, then maybe duration would offer strategic benefits. Currently though, time spent skirting around the map lining up perfect headshot or dumping aggro is counter to the main goal of the MP game.

It's fine if you prefer duration over damage, but your list is pretty horribly biased.

It's like you completely ignored that people who take damage still get 5.2 seconds of invisibility. Even with the damage evolution you can still do most of the things on your list.

I use to be a believer of duration cloak back in the day, but why hide from enemies when you can kill them all? If the game decides to spawn enemies near you while doing an objective, you're screwed anyways.

How is scorewhoring a bad thing? You kill things, you are asset to the team, you make completion time faster.

You can't be tacti-cool in mass effect, either you kill things fast or things kill you fast. <_<

 I don't agree that duration is always better than damage, but I always take duration because it suits my conservative play style better and means I can clutch and carry in dodgy pugs.

My duration specced tgi is my pug crutch :lol:

The way the game mechanics are currently, Damage really is better than Duration. Even at least for the simple reason that TC bonus damage almost always works while the "being invisible" aspect of TC is almost always ignored by the AI.

No question that in some cases duration is better than damage however it's usefulness is downgraded a bit for objectives because as often as not other team members rush to do a 4 objective, no real benefit in hack zone or the others. It has its' uses but the damage evo is used each and every time you cloak and then attack as opposed to the duration that is beneficial onloy under certain circumstances and I'm one that used to take duration over damamge almost always.

Duration has it's uses, but the only time it is better than damage is on the Shadow, and sometimes doing devices. Damage lets you kill things faster, which is kind of the point of the game. Duration will either result in dumping a lot of aggro on your teammates, or it will be pointless because the enemies decide to see you anyways.

That said, I still go with duration on a few of my infiltrators just for something different. It's viable, but simply not as good.
