Excessive focus on romance

Rivalmance

Rivalry and Friendship (rivals don't follow you around, what the ****)

Huge time skips mid game

Limited information/movement. In DA:O we spent the whole game exploring. DAII was the most self contained bubble of blech I've ever played. It's like the rest of the world didn't exist. Seven years went by, and we have NO IDEA what was going on!

Only one possible ending. That was incredibly stupid.

Wouldn't it just be easier to say please give us more of Dragon's Age Origins, but with updated graphics, and by and large skip (like the Fade) all things Da2??

Also Ea supports mods,(Single Player type) why didn't they choose to make DA I mod friendly?

A path has to be chosen, selecting a game engine which is NOT mod friendly was a choice.

If any of my previous posts survived (LOCKDOWN!).

You would notice I requested more of DAO, and look where that got me.

By the way, will the game in its near finished state, be run past non-paid employees for Quality/Satisfaction purposes?

I am nearly certain, that did NOT happen with Da2 and ABSOLUTELY certain with Mass Effect 3.

Here is a new chance make new customers (when you buy art you are a customer, so you can take exception).

DA2 didn't have an excessive focus on romances. The romances were just poorly done imo.

Pretty much everything from DA2 should not be in DAI.

Mustache twirling villains.
Lack of politically intriguing issues.
Player-sexual romances.
"Darkspawn who dream"?! WTF?!
DA2 Darkspawn models especially the Hurlocks, bring back DA:O Alpha Hurlocks.
Recycled caves.
Being hit on just because you weren't a complete ass to companion.
Rejects from the Final Fantasy Universe.

01. Cliffhanger endings

02. All romances being player-sexual (prefer 1 straight male/straight female, 1 bi male/female, and 1 gay male/lesbian female, total of 6 romances, some of them being NPCs akin to Traynor/Chambers/Cortez)

03. Anders (DA2 Anders mind you)

04. Companions like DA2's Anders

05. Potion cooldowns

06. NPCs being oblivious to magic wielding characters

07. Having a Garrett/Marian style default that you're forced to play as in the beginning, keep all characters custom like Origins with no defaults

08. Recycled locations

No more 'awesome button' mashing.
I'd like what I pick in the wheel to be what comes out of my characters mouth. (unlike DA2)
No more player sexual characters.
Better portrayal of the mage/templar conflict. All DA2 made me want to do was to kill them both off or just let them kill each other.

They already sound/seem like they changed anything id have an issue with.
I cant remember if Origins had the character creator after a cutscene or not if they did odds are it will still be after Some type of opening.

Well, there is the friendly rivalry...which I think works with Fenris.  But the rest of them sort've fall flat.

I mean, this happens in pretty much every Bioware game:  Morrigan, Ashley, Liara, Jack, etc.  My male characters always get "hit on" for being nice guys.  This isn't new.

It is kinda weird that a companion would follow someone who has actievly worked against everything they believe in (for full rivalry) but not for someone who was a little mixed, like Isabella coming back for the Qunari chapter.

What's the actual problem here?

From DA2:

1. Console versions of Dragon Age: Inquisition.
2. Little-to-no murder knife options. I want to murder knife people.
3. Reused maps (BioWare learnt their lesson though, so no worries there).
4. Character creation set in a black, blank area that misleads you into thinking your character will look like that most everywhere.
5. Waves of enemies that come out of nowhere (if they actually interact with the environment like open the door they came from, that's fine).
6. Retconned dead characters (although my only dead companions are Anders (DA2) in 2 of my 4 canon games, and Alistair in 1 of my canon games... and Loghain in all 4, I suppose).

Not from DA2:

1. No cameos. I want to have cameos.
2. Character creation not set in the first area of the game, but instead, in a fictious area that doesn't appear anywhere in the game.
EDIT:
3. Excessive focus on romance. We need the romances to be focused on excessively, which didn't happen in DA2... nor in Origins for that matter.

Yeah but I'm talking about Anders, I was nice to him in one playthrough just to see what happens.

Sure they do!

Pokemon: Both Richie and Gary have followed Ash around, if only for a short time. Plus Drew followed May around a little bit.
One Piece: Zoro and Sanji are often together in the same group of people, despite hating each other.
Real life: Sometimes you get paired with your rival and it's beyond your control, and you have to follow each other around and work together.

You need to get out more! ;)

Yeah, and my point is "deal with it".  Bioware puts this in every game with the female character throwing themselves at the male protagonist whether they show interest or not.  They do it in ONE game where a male character does it and suddenly everyone is all QQ about it.  If I have to deal with it, you should have to deal with it.

Guess what? Zev hit on my M!Cousland and I was perfectly ok with that, Anders...not so much but that's because he's a emo moronic crybaby.

Then amend your initial statement to only refer to Anders, otherwise, you seem like a hypocrite.  Isabella hits on your character and she was in DA2.  If you don't mean it for everyone, then clarify your statements.

Really? Are people still screaming murder since one male character tried to hit on them once?
What is the problem?
Following the same logic Isabela and Leliana should have caused an uproar! XD
Please D.A.II has many flaws, the romance options are definitely the least of them (admitting they are a problem in the first place, which I do not think, but "de gustibus").

I hate annoying-ass Isabella as well and I mentioned giving her to the Qunari to be converted or to die, plus I could care less about being called a hypocrite.

I was equally pissed off at the former and latter knucklehead (though I began to tolerate the latter more after hardening her).

Anyway this thread is called, "Things from DA2 that you DON'T want to see in DA: I", meaning the things people post will be subjective, meaning deal with it.

I agree that the rivalries weren't really realistic.  I have only ever been rivals with Anders, Merrill, Fenris, and Sebastian and the only time it makes sense for the character to stay with Hawke is when they are being romanced.  Otherwise, it's silly to think that they would stay with him.  Merrill especially.  You can completely disagree with her, disparage her all the time, then sell her out and refuse to allow her to complete the eluvian and she will still be your "companion".  You would think that she would wash her hands of Hawke before the end of Act 2.

Lazy fetch quests where you find random items on the road and magically know who they belong to.

Good for you!
Still the player is not given agency over NPCs so his hitting on you does happen, as does you putting a knife in his back, thus I think you will be able to survive the experience. On his contrary, I might add. :P

There are a lot of hateful idiots in the world, huh?

You know, I never hated ANY companion in Dragon Age. In fact, I loved everyone of them except for Wynne, Sebastian and Aveline (plus the companions in Golems of Amgarrak, Leliana's Song and Witch Hunt).

The only thing I hated about Anders in DA2, is that they made him not only player sexual, but bi sexual as well.

On that note, I don't want player sexual companions. I want companions who have opinions on sexuality, and abide by them. Tallis(?), Sebastian, Isabela, Leliana, Zevran, Alistair and Morrigan are the only non-player sexual companions who are capable of being romanced. Sadly, BioWare insists on having player sexual companions in DA:I.

DA 2 style storytelling.  All that was live in DA 2 were the Scense involving Cassandra, Varric and Lelianna.  That's it.  Everything else was past history (necessary for Inquisition, as was Origins).  Not good gaming.
